Featured Moments and Community Highlights
We are Kamakshi and Vishala. Welcome to a peek into our world where music is friendship, healing, and connection. From intimate music hangouts to our group classical classes, this is where we share the joy of sound.
We believe the real magic happens in the connections we make. Here, members of our Naad Collective share stories and laughter, creating a community that feels like family.
This is what our Naad Collective evenings are all about. It's a space where our members feel comfortable enough to share their voices, supported by live music and an encouraging audience.
As sisters and co-founders, we love nothing more than sharing a microphone and creating music together. This is the energy and passion we bring to every session at The Sound Space.
Here is a look inside our Shadaja for Adults class, where we explore the fundamentals of Hindustani music. We focus on learning *taal* (rhythm) and having fun together in a supportive group setting.
It means the world to us when our students feel inspired. Listen to Tvisha share how her daughter's journey with us encouraged her to join our adult classes and find her own 'me time' through music.
From weekly classes to the grand stage at the Royal Opera House. We are so proud to see our adult students from the Shadaja program performing with confidence at our annual 'Sakhya' showcase.
We often describe The Naad Collective as a book club for music lovers. It’s the perfect way to understand our vision: a space for appreciation and discussion, without the pressure to perform.
Look at these happy faces. Our audience is the heart of our community, a diverse group of music lovers of all ages coming together to enjoy an evening of Indian music and connection.
About Featured
You do not need prior training to step into our space. Whether you are joining our Naad Collective evenings at Kathiwada City House or the Shadaja classical terms in South Mumbai, we focus on helping you find comfort in your own voice rather than chasing perfect performance. It is all about finding a bit of 'me time' and genuine connection with others who share a love for sound.
At The Sound Space, we believe music is a language that everyone can speak. You do not need years of training or a formal background to appreciate the beauty of a Raga or the rhythm of a Taal.
A Different Approach to Music
We have stripped away the competitive edge often found in music education. Our classes, like the Shadaja term for adults, focus on vocal wellness and community singing. We incorporate Pranayam breathwork and basic Om chanting to help you ground yourself before we dive into the structure of music. It is less about hitting the high note perfectly and more about the connection you feel while making sound with others.
Where We Connect
Our Naad Collective evenings offer a unique space. Think of it as a book club, but for music appreciation. We bring in professional Tabla and Harmonium players, creating a relaxed, living-room style environment where you can deconstruct compositions, listen, or just enjoy the evening.
Why It Works
Because we are a sister-duo, our teaching style is built on the foundation of family and support. We have seen shy individuals walk into our studio at Tardeo or Chowpatty and leave with newfound confidence after just a few weeks. Music here is a medium for stress relief, a way to build patience, and a genuine outlet that busy professionals and parents often struggle to find in the city.
If you are curious about starting your journey, whether in our group classical vocal terms or our intimate listening circles, reach out. Let’s explore the world of swars together.
The Sound Space
We are Kamakshi and Vishala. We built this space because we believe music is a friendship first and performance second. Our programs are designed from a mother's heart and a sister's bond, focused entirely on making you feel at home.
