About Mastering the Medium: Specialized Courses
You will spend 12 weeks moving beyond step-by-step tutorials to understand the mechanics of your medium. Expect to get messy and ruin a few canvases while we work on layering, brush control, and color theory. This course is about gaining the technical foundation to paint whatever you want, long after the term ends.
The 12-Week Difference
We don't offer 'paint-and-sip' sessions. Our quarterly mastery courses are designed for adults who want to understand why a painting works or fails. Whether you choose acrylics or watercolors, the curriculum forces you to engage with the material rather than just following instructions.
What You Will Actually Learn
- Acrylic & Mixed Media: We teach you how to push the paint—thinning, thickening, scraping, and rebuilding. You will complete six finished artworks, moving through abstraction, still life, and texture-heavy surfaces.
- Watercolor Mastery: Conquer the 'scary' wet brush. We cover wet-on-wet blending, layering for depth, and experimental textures that elevate your work from flat washes to professional-grade painting.
Studio Experience
Our studio space in Prabhadevi is equipped with dedicated easels and storage for your work, so you don't have to carry supplies back and forth. You will be working in a small, guided group where I or my senior instructors provide real-time critique. This is not about finishing a piece in two hours; it is about learning a process you can replicate independently. Note that for our quarterly courses, students are required to purchase their own medium-specific kit to ensure you get comfortable with the tools you will use at home.
