Restaurant Design: White Garden
We crafted the 'White Garden' cafe to bridge the gap between artisanal charm and commercial efficiency. With a light, neutral palette, whimsical wall art, and thoughtful zoning, we created a serene dining atmosphere.
Every restaurant needs versatile spaces. I created this private dining niche for larger groups, using CNC-cut wood leaves on the wall to add a subtle, whimsical texture. The bleached wood tables and frosted glass pendants create a calm, complementary atmosphere.
Witness the transformation. This video shows how I took a bare, empty space and turned it into the 'White Garden' private dining area, from the initial structure to the final, fully furnished room.
Every design begins with a vision. This is the initial 3D render for the 'White Garden' dining space, where I mapped out the wall treatments, seating layout, and lighting plan to ensure a harmonious final result.
I use architectural elements like this veneered archway to visually separate dining zones while maintaining an open feel. It frames the view into the next space, creating layers and depth within the restaurant.
This image, featured in Elle Decor, highlights the cohesive design where furniture, wall treatments, and colors flow seamlessly. The custom metal pendants and textured walls add to the artisanal feel.
A life-sized tree branch, crafted from veneer-clad ply, wraps around the window in this whimsical room. The branch is enhanced with lights that activate at night, bridging the indoor and outdoor environments.
As seen in Elle Decor, this life-sized tree branch sculpture creates a natural, undulating pattern on the wall. It's a key feature that brings a sense of wonder and organic artistry to the dining experience.
This beautiful hand-painted mural is an ode to a garden, filled with delicate branches and birds. It serves as a stunning backdrop for the dining area, paired with deep blue booth seating and terrazzo-style tables.
Elle Decor captured the essence of this space, describing the hand-painted mural as a "beautiful ode to the garden". It's a carefully composed piece that delights and surprises guests.
For more private seating, I designed these booths separated by teak partitions with a traditional jaali pattern. The geometric fabric and green pendant lights add a pop of color and modern flair.
About Restaurant Design: White Garden
We addressed the client's need for a private dining niche without sacrificing floor space by designing veneered archways that visually separate zones while keeping the flow open. We balanced the room’s whimsy with CNC-cut wall leaves in muted tones, ensuring the space feels both exclusive and connected to the main dining area.
At Tesor Designs, we approach restaurant interiors as a conversation between the brand’s story and the physical space. The 'White Garden' project was an exercise in balancing artisanal charm with commercial efficiency. Our primary goal was to evoke a serene, garden-like experience that keeps diners lingering while maintaining the operational flow required for a busy eatery.
Crafting the Atmosphere
The design centers on a light, neutral palette, but we avoided a clinical feel by layering textures. We commissioned a hand-painted mural, an ode to a garden, which acts as the soul of the room. To enhance this, we used custom-crafted CNC-cut wall art. These wooden leaves are finished in the same hue as the walls, offering a tactile, three-dimensional element that catches light without overwhelming the space.
Functional Zoning
A restaurant is only as good as its layout. We used veneered archways to subtly divide seating zones. These arches frame the view into different areas, providing a sense of depth and privacy, particularly for the private dining niche we created. This allows larger groups to feel tucked away without losing the energy of the main floor. For lighting, we moved away from generic downlights, opting for oversized fabric and glass pendants that anchor the tables and soften the overall acoustic profile of the space.
The Technicals
From a turnkey perspective, every element—from the terrazzo-style tables to the acoustic-friendly ceiling treatments—was selected for durability in high-traffic zones. We believe that good restaurant design should be as easy to maintain as it is beautiful to look at, allowing our clients to focus on the food while we take care of the vibe.
