Innovative Learning Environments
We believe classrooms are only half the story. Our approach to educational architecture creates campus spaces—from courtyards to canteens—that actively encourage student interaction and growth.
This render shows Phase 1 of the AWE India School in Rajasthan. The design features soft, inviting curves for the primary wing and a projected facade that shades labs and classrooms, blending aesthetics with functional, climate-responsive design.
At AWE India School, we used computer-generated imagery (CGI) extensively during the design development process. This allowed us to test and refine facade strategies, including shading depth and material combinations, before construction began.
For the JIM Boys Hostel in New Delhi, we designed rooms that are more than just a place to sleep. The space is crafted to feel like a home, with natural materials, ample daylight, and dedicated study areas to create a comfortable and inspiring environment.
The reception at the Jaipuria Institute of Management student housing in Noida. We used a palette of raw, honest materials like exposed brick, terracotta tiles, and mild steel to create a warm, grounded, and welcoming first impression.
This render shows the canteen design for the Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur. A long, communal table made from a single log of wood acts as a centerpiece, encouraging interaction and collaboration among students.
The canteen features varied seating arrangements, from bar-style counters to small group tables. Lush hanging greenery and modern pendant lights create a fresh and inviting atmosphere for relaxation and socializing.
We designed the Incubation Centre at the JIM Boys Hostel in Noida to be a catalyst for innovation. The industrial aesthetic, with exposed brick and flexible workstations, provides a functional and inspiring environment for students to collaborate and develop ideas.
About this collection
When you are planning an institutional project, remember that the most valuable real estate isn't just in the classrooms, but in the ‘in-between’ spaces like corridors and courtyards. We prioritize these areas because that is where students actually interact; by integrating flexible seating, activity clusters, and writable surfaces into these transitional zones, we turn simple circulation into active learning territory.
Our Kidtecture Philosophy
Architecture in education should do more than house students; it should act as a framework for growth. We call our approach 'Kidtecture'. It shifts the focus from building rigid boxes to creating flexible, interactive environments that adapt to the changing needs of students and educators.
Climate and Materiality
We avoid the trap of generic school templates by grounding our designs in the local context. For our projects like the Jaipuria Institute of Management, we utilize honest materials—exposed brick, terrazzo, and mild steel—that are both durable and maintainable. These choices aren't just aesthetic. We conduct rigorous solar path studies and integrate passive cooling strategies, such as shading devices and strategically placed courtyards, to ensure classrooms remain bright and comfortable without over-relying on mechanical HVAC systems.
Designing for Interaction
Our design process is deeply iterative. We combine traditional sketching and physical modeling with advanced digital simulations to stress-test campus layouts before a single brick is laid. Whether we are master-planning a greenfield campus or retrofitting an existing building, our goal is to create shared spaces—like the communal timber tables we designed for JIM Jaipur or the incubation hubs in Noida—that foster collaboration and a genuine sense of community. We don’t just build walls; we design spaces that invite participation.
Team3
We are team3, a collective that treats architecture as a constant dialogue between the people and their environment. We don’t work with standard templates; we sketch, debate, and use both pencil and simulation software to design educational spaces that adapt to the students and faculty actually using them.
