Mindful Mornings Yoga Classes for Kids in Mehrauli
We start our mornings with calm yoga and movement exercises, helping kids find their focus and stay centered before the day's excitement begins.
Day 4 of summer camp started with yoga and chanting the Gayatri Mantra. These mindfulness activities help children feel calm, centered, and ready for a day of fun.
A look inside our yoga class at Tansen Mehrauli. Our spacious, ventilated rooms are the perfect setting for students to learn various asanas and find their inner peace.
We break down complex yoga sequences into easy-to-follow steps. This is the first of our 7 main steps of Surya Namaskar, a great guide for our students.
Step 1: Sthiti-Pranamasana (Prayer Pose). We begin our Surya Namaskar practice by centering ourselves and setting an intention for the session.
Step 2: Ardhachakrasana (Standing Backbend). This pose helps to stretch the spine and open up the chest, improving posture and flexibility.
Step 3: Padahasthasana (Hand to Foot Pose). A great forward bend that stretches the hamstrings and helps to calm the mind.
Step 4: Ashwa Sanchalanasana (Equestrian Pose). This lunge pose is excellent for stretching the hips and strengthening the leg muscles.
Step 5: Parvathasana (Downward-Facing Dog). A foundational yoga pose that strengthens the entire body and helps to relieve stress.
Step 6: Astangasana (Eight-Limbed Pose). This pose builds upper body and core strength, preparing the body for more advanced postures.
Step 7: Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose). A gentle backbend that increases spinal flexibility and strengthens the back muscles.

Our morning sessions are not about rigid perfection, they are about helping kids find their balance before the day's energy kicks in. We guide them through simple breathing and stretching using stories or music to make it feel like a game. You will notice this calm energy stays with them when they transition into their dance or art sessions right after.
We believe that a great day starts with a calm mind. In our studio in Mehrauli, we don't just teach asanas, we teach children how to breathe, focus, and connect with their bodies. By removing screens and adding a bit of structure to their morning, we see our students become more confident and attentive throughout the rest of the day.
