About Join Our Community: Djembe Classes & Events
You do not need to own a drum to start. Whether you join our weekly classes at Artsphere in Kalyani Nagar or our sessions in Baner, we provide the West African Djembe for you. If it is your first time, do not worry about speed or skill. We teach you to listen, connect with the circle, and find your rhythm through simple vocal patterns and movement.
How Our Drumming Community Works
At Taal Inc., we believe the Djembe knows no borders. My goal is to make rhythm accessible, whether you are looking for a weekly hobby, a meditative practice, or a way to blow off some steam.
Weekly Djembe Classes We run regular classes in Pune (Baner and Kalyani Nagar). These are structured to help you learn the traditional West African way, following the curriculum I learned from my guru, Grandmaster Mamady Keïta. We offer flexible packages for 1, 4, 8, or 12 classes, so you can learn at your own pace. You will find yourself practicing with a consistent community, which makes the learning process a lot more fun.
Community Drum Circles Once a month, we host open community drum circles—often at places like Pune Handmade Papers. These are less about 'learning' in the academic sense and more about 'being'. You show up, we hand you a drum, and we play together. It is an honest, unpretentious space. It is not a performance; it is a conversation without words.
