Hindustani Classical Music Student Performances
Performance is a vital part of the learning journey at Swarveni Gurukul. Our students regularly showcase their dedication through intimate Baithaks, the annual Swarveni Utsav, and devotional Aradhana sessions.

About Student Performances: Swarveni Utsav, Baithaks & Aradhana
Performance here is not just a showcase; it is a critical step in your sadhana (spiritual practice). When students take the stage at our monthly Baithaks or the annual Swarveni Utsav, they learn to channel their focus and present their art with sincerity, moving beyond technical perfection to truly convey the bhaav (emotion) of the raga.
At Swarveni Gurukul, we believe that learning Hindustani classical music is incomplete without the experience of performing.
The Baithak Tradition
Our monthly Baithaks are designed to bridge the gap between classroom riyaz (practice) and public performance. These are intimate gatherings where students perform with professional tabla accompaniment. This environment teaches students how to handle stage pressure, interact with accompanists, and maintain the continuity of a raga under the watchful eyes of their peers and mentors.
Swarveni Utsav and Aradhana
Beyond regular classes, we host the annual Swarveni Utsav and devotional Aradhana events. These platforms allow our students, like the Nair sisters or young Shaurya Verma, to share their growth with a wider audience. These events are not competitions but celebrations of the Guru-Shishya parampara, where students demonstrate the discipline they have cultivated over months of intensive training.
Why Performance Matters
- Stagecraft: You learn microphone handling and audience interaction, skills that are often overlooked in standard theory classes.
- Confidence: Regular exposure reduces performance anxiety, allowing the music to flow naturally.
- Feedback: Performing in front of an appreciative yet discerning audience provides immediate insights into your vocal expression and emotional clarity.
Whether you are a beginner taking your first steps or an advanced student preparing for national-level contests, these performance opportunities are woven into our curriculum. We invite you to join our family, develop your voice, and share in the beauty of traditional Indian music.

I am Pt. Ashish Narayan Tripathi. I do not just teach notes; I prepare my shishyas to walk the path of music with honesty and humility. My students share their progress through regular performances, and you are always welcome to join us as part of our audience.
