About Specialized Workshops
People often ask me, 'Manasi, is Lavani or Ghazal too tough for a beginner?' My answer is always the same: if you can feel the emotion, you can sing it. In these workshops, we strip away the intimidation of complex genres. We focus on the 'Bhaav'—the expression behind the poetry—because technical perfection naturally follows once you truly connect with the song.
Learning a specific style requires more than just hitting the right notes. It requires understanding the cultural context and the breathing patterns that make a song come alive. In our specialized batches, we move beyond basic 'Sa Re Ga Ma' to explore the poetry of Ghazals, the rhythmic storytelling of Lavani, and the technical foundation of Voice Culture.
What to Expect
- Ghazal & Light Music: We focus on 'Bhaav'. You will learn how to articulate Urdu and Marathi words with the correct emotion, ensuring the listener feels the weight of every line.
- Lavani & Folk: This is about high energy. We teach you how to bring out the 'nakhra' and the punch in your voice without straining your vocal cords.
- Voice Culture: This is for anyone, professional or hobbyist. We use exercises to open up the throat, improve resonance, and ensure your voice stays healthy and vibrant for years.
The Logistics
These are performance-oriented sessions available in our Dadar West (Mumbai) and Pune locations, as well as through live online workshops. Some of these sessions are led by guest experts, giving you a chance to learn directly from industry veterans. Whether you want to perform on a stage or just sing better in your living room, these workshops provide a safe, judge-free environment to experiment.
We provide printed lyric sheets with breath-pause notations, so you don't have to worry about memorizing complex phrasing right away. You just show up, breathe, and sing.
