A Glimpse into Svadhyaya's Learning Space
We believe learning is a journey, not a race. Here is a look into the messy, joyful, and curiosity-driven world we have built for kids and families in Jayanagar.
Here, learning is a team sport. We encourage children to gather, share ideas, and create together, fostering teamwork and collaborative problem-solving in our fun STEM activities.
This is the story of why we started Svadhyaya. It began with a simple question from a child, sparking a journey to create a space where both children and adults can learn and grow together, guided by curiosity.
Meet Nikhil, one of our passionate facilitators. He brings his love for rock climbing to our space, teaching kids bouldering and helping them build courage, focus, and a spirit of adventure.
Sustainability is woven into everything we do. This video shows a few ways we practice zero-waste principles in our art sessions, from making new paper out of old newspapers to creating pigments from leftover flowers.
We believe in making complex concepts simple and fun. In this hands-on science experiment, a child discovers the principles of air pressure and aerodynamics using just a cup, a straw, and a small ball.
A glimpse into our Sensory Submerge summer camp. The final day was a celebration of taste, with children engaging in fireless cooking to create their own refreshing beverages and yummy, healthy snacks.
This image captures the heart of our philosophy: Curiosity > Judgement. We create a safe space for messy, joyful exploration, where the process of discovery is more important than the final outcome.
About this collection
You will notice a lot of natural textures and open-ended materials in these photos because we believe the process of making matters more than the finished product. When you book a session here, expect your child to get their hands messy, whether it is with natural clay, chemical-free dyes, or circuits, as they learn to solve problems at their own pace.
Where Curiosity Leads
At Svadhyaya, we approach education as a shared path. Located on a rooftop in Jayanagar, our space is designed to be a 'third teacher'—a flexible, open environment that invites movement and discovery. We do not believe in forcing a curriculum. Instead, we provide the tools and guidance for children to explore STEM, integrated arts, and physical movement on their own terms.
What Our Sessions Look Like
Whether you are joining us for a weekend STEM workshop or an intensive holiday camp, the goal remains the same: exploration.
- STEM & Logic: We make science tangible. Kids do not just learn theory; they build circuits, experiment with aerodynamics, and play logic games that make math feel like a puzzle rather than a chore.
- Art & Sensory Play: We lean into the mess. Our art sessions prioritize the experience of creation. We use sustainable materials—like natural pigments made from flowers or paper pulp from recycled newspapers—so children learn that creativity and care for the earth go hand in hand.
- Movement & Adventure: Beyond our classrooms, we encourage active play. Our adjustable bouldering wall is a favorite, helping children develop focus, strength, and the courage to try new routes.
Why We Do It
We are a collective of educators and artists who believe that learning happens best when we remove the fear of judgment. By keeping our groups small and mixed-age, we create a community where everyone, from our youngest toddlers to parents, can learn to ask better questions and embrace the process of discovery. We invite you to step away from the rigid structure of traditional schooling and see where your own curiosity takes you.
Svadhyaya
We started Svadhyaya because we wanted a place where the rulebook does not always apply. We invite you to move beyond formal classes and join a community that values deep questions, messy art, and the occasional thrown-out lesson plan.
