People often see the finished red carpet look and assume it is just glamour. The reality in my studio is a lot of coffee, endless moodboarding, and the heavy lifting, like courier returns, steaming garments, and inventory tracking, that happens long before the cameras start flashing.
How I Bring a Vision to Life
When you see a final image, you are looking at the end of a long journey. My studio in Santacruz West is where this process is anchored. It is not just an office, but a laboratory for fashion storytelling.
The Creative Phase
It starts with the concept. Whether it is a moody editorial or a high-energy commercial campaign, I spend hours in my reading nook with reference books and mood boards. We define the vibe—are we going for modern retro, edgy glam, or something soft and traditional? This phase is about aligning on the narrative before we pick a single piece of clothing.
The Sourcing & Logistics
This is the unglamorous, critical part of the job. I source from a wide range of labels, from high-street finds to high-end designers. My team manages the logistics—pulling outfits, coordinating with showrooms across Mumbai, ensuring high-value fine jewelry is secure, and tracking every accessory. If a piece does not fit the story, it does not make the cut.
Execution
On set, the studio work pays off. We handle everything: professional draping, quick changes, and managing the team of photographers and hair and makeup artists. My goal is to ensure that while the team is creating magic, the logistics remain invisible so the talent and the vision remain the focus.
