About The Creative Process: Behind the Scenes
Styling isn't just about picking an outfit; it’s about solving problems in real-time. Whether it is draping a saree perfectly in minutes or fixing a jewelry clasp that won't stay put, my job is to keep the shoot moving while we capture that perfect frame. I am there on set with my styling kit, ensuring every layer, from the can-can skirt to the final earring placement, looks flawless on camera.
The images you see here are the result of hours of preparation and on-set coordination. I don't work in a vacuum. My process starts with mood boarding to align the vision, but the real work happens in the hours leading up to the first shot.
The Collaborative Approach
Fashion photography and bridal styling are team sports. I work closely with photographers, makeup artists, and hair stylists to ensure the final result is cohesive. If the makeup style needs a specific set of earrings or the hair volume dictates a change in the drape, we adjust on the fly.
My On-Set Kit
Behind every 'perfect' photo is a stylist with a kit full of essentials. I carry industrial fashion tape, clips for sample fits, lint rollers, and safety pins. This is the reality of fashion shoots in Delhi. Things change, outfits need structural adjustments, and jewelry needs precision placement using glue dots to stay flat.
Why Process Matters
Whether it is an editorial campaign or a makeup artist's portfolio shoot, the goal is to make the subject look fabulous and confident. My role is to manage the logistics of the look so that the creative team can focus entirely on the art. By handling the sourcing, steaming, and on-site draping, I remove the stress from the process, allowing for a smooth experience from start to finish.
