Minimalist Furniture Design
We believe furniture should be simple, functional, and honest. Our designs strip away the unnecessary, leaving only what is essential for comfort and use.
This is the result of our search for the simplest mass-producible chair. Made from bent, drilled, and painted plate metal, its form is a direct expression of its manufacturing process, embodying a quiet and subtle sophistication.
A frontal view of our minimalist chair, showcasing its clean, geometric silhouette. The design strips away all non-essential elements, leaving a form that is honest, functional, and sculptural in its simplicity.
A detail shot of the chair's construction, highlighting the single, clean bend where the seat meets the back. This angled folding technique is the key to its ergonomic comfort and its visual simplicity.

The chair's simple, durable form is designed to be a piece of functional art. Here, it provides a moment of rest, its clean lines contrasting with the human form to highlight its pure, geometric design.
The chair's form captured in motion, emphasizing its dynamic yet simple profile. It is a piece of furniture designed for life and movement, durable enough for any environment while maintaining its minimalist aesthetic.
Our minimalist chair, pictured in our studio, offers a comfortable spot for relaxation and inspiration. Its design was born from the question of how to blend ergonomic comfort with versatility and ease of manufacturing.
About this collection
Our signature chair is not about trends. It is born from a single sheet of plate metal, bent and folded to provide natural ergonomic support without the need for cushions or complex hardware. It is built to last, whether you are placing it in a busy office lobby or a quiet corner of your home, and because it is weather-resistant, it works just as well on a terrace.
At Studio Chintala, we make boxes. But these boxes are designed to bring order to a chaotic world. When it comes to furniture, our approach remains the same: honesty, durability, and a search for the simplest form that does the job.
Why Minimalist Metal Furniture?
Our design process starts with a simple question: How can we reduce a piece of furniture to its most basic, functional state? For our metal chairs and benches, the answer lay in a folding technique that manages structural strength and ergonomics in one clean movement.
This is not furniture designed for a catalogue. It is furniture designed for life.
- Durability: Using plate metal ensures the pieces can handle the wear and tear of high-traffic office spaces or outdoor environments.
- Versatility: The clean silhouette allows these pieces to sit comfortably in a modern tech campus in Bengaluru, a co-living hub, or a private residence in Hyderabad.
- Sustainability: By simplifying the manufacturing process and avoiding unnecessary components like foam or fabric, we create products that are easier to recycle and built to last for decades, not seasons.
Designing for Real Spaces
We design for people who value authenticity. Whether we are planning an office fit-out or designing a chair for a public space, the goal is always to avoid gimmicks. Our furniture is meant to be used, moved, and lived with. If you are looking for minimalist interior architectural design that actually solves problems rather than just filling space, our work is designed to endure.
Studio Chintala
We are Studio Chintala, a design collective that believes in keeping things real. We do not chase fads; we look for the most honest way to solve a design problem, whether that is a home layout or a simple, sturdy chair.
