Community and Public Spaces Design

Public architecture should not be a monument to ego. We design parks, research campuses, and community hubs that prioritize natural flow, honest materials, and the simple act of people coming together.

This is our competition entry for the new Telangana High Court, a project designed to be a timeless piece of architecture embodying justice and democracy. The design achieves monumentality through simplicity and honesty, with a deep focus on functionality and site harmony.

The interior of our Telangana High Court proposal features grand arched colonnades, creating a space that is both monumental and filled with light. The design segregates public and private zones while using natural materials to evoke a sense of timeless authority and calm.

The public hall in our High Court design, featuring a coffered ceiling and clear wayfinding to ensure efficiency and order. The space is designed to be open, accessible, and filled with natural light, reflecting the democratic ideals of the institution it houses.

A courtroom concept for the Telangana High Court, where traditional wood paneling and arched windows are reinterpreted in a modern, minimalist language. The design aims to create a space of dignity and focus, conducive to the serious work of justice.

Our design for the Amara Raja Energy & Mobility campus, a unique Net-Positive project for alternate energy research. The architecture seamlessly integrates with nature, featuring elevated walkways over water bodies to foster a spirit of innovation and sustainability.

The interiors for the 'ePositive' research center are designed to be honest, unpretentious, and functional. This view shows the raw, industrial aesthetic with exposed beams and simple graphic elements, creating a space that is airy, open, and timeless.

About this collection

When we design public buildings, we refuse to build monuments to ego. Our design for the TSSP Convention Center is a clear example. We left the architectural framework neutral and honest. This is not about us imposing a style, but rather providing a robust, adaptable shell that lets the event, whether a wedding or a corporate gathering, take center stage without competing with the architecture.

Public architecture often suffers from over-design, with too much ornamentation and signature vanity. Our approach is the opposite. Whether it is a research campus like the Amara Raja Energy project or a community clubhouse in Hyderabad, we strip away the excess.

We focus on the ground plane. How does a person walk through this space? Is the light natural? Does the structure feel heavy or oppressive? In our Hyderabad clubhouse, we used a light steel structure oriented toward water bodies, not because it looked decorative, but because it created a seamless, open-air environment that invites social interaction.

Our work on the Telangana High Court competition entry further defines this stance. We rejected the trend of overblown, grandiose aesthetics. Instead, we prioritized functional segregation of public and private zones and used natural light as a tool for dignity.

Public spaces require a level of durability and flexibility that private homes do not. We utilize high-performance, low-maintenance materials like exposed concrete, glass, and steel to ensure these buildings endure. We believe that if you get the bones right, the space will function for the community long after trends have faded. Architecture is not about nostalgia; it is about building for the present.
