Architecture is often seen as a contest of aesthetics, but for us at Studio Bhoomi, it is a conversation with the environment. When the Consulting Civil Engineers Association (ACCE) recognized our work at the Arunivas residence with the 'Care for the Earth' award, it affirmed that our obsession with the 'true ceiling' and natural ventilation is a viable blueprint for modern Indian homes.

We do not chase awards, we chase thermal comfort. The Arunivas project was a masterclass in this, utilizing exposed clay hollow blocks and passive cooling techniques that naturally lower indoor temperatures without the need for constant air conditioning. The panel recognized our efforts in reducing the overall embodied carbon of the structure—a metric we prioritize in every single sketch.

Whether it is a filler slab ceiling or a simple brick dome, our focus remains on minimizing waste and maximizing life. We treat materials like clay, stone, and bamboo as partners, not just commodities.
