A Complete Home: Residence at Pioneer Lake District
Step into a home where architecture behaves like nature. See how we integrated light, earth materials, and movement to turn this Pioneer Lake District residence into a breathing space.
This perspective highlights the home's verticality and our use of mixed materials. The wooden staircase, exposed concrete, and a circular brick ceiling detail work together to create a rich, textured interior with views across different living zones.
From this angle, you can see how the central staircase acts as a spine for the home, connecting different functional areas. An indoor garden at the base reinforces the connection to nature, even deep within the house.
Details matter in creating a warm and inviting entryway. Here, a custom wooden door with a natural live edge complements the polished yellow oxide floor and an indoor planter, setting a tone of earthy elegance from the moment you step inside.
About A Complete Home: Residence at Pioneer Lake District
Notice that circular brick dome ceiling in the photos. It is not just a design choice, but a filler slab technique we use to keep the home naturally cool while adding visual volume. Every element here, from the yellow oxide floors to the reclaimed wood in the staircase, was chosen to make the house feel like it is breathing with you.
Architecture should not feel static. In this Pioneer Lake District project, our goal was to remove the barrier between the indoors and the elements. By using organic geometry and strategic light placement, we created a flow that guides you naturally from the entrance through to the living zones.
The Anatomy of the Space
- The Ceiling as Art: We moved away from standard concrete slabs. The filler slab ceiling, using terracotta elements, acts as a thermal buffer, keeping interiors comfortable throughout the day.
- Material Integrity: We believe in honest materials. The yellow oxide flooring offers a cooling touch underfoot, while the reclaimed wood in the staircases adds a layer of history and warmth.
- Light as a Material: The skylights and windows are not just holes in the wall. They are positioned to choreograph the movement of the sun, casting shadows that change the mood of the room as the day progresses.
We design for the long term. Our structural drawings and site supervision ensure that these intricate brick patterns and domes are built to last. If you want a home that prioritizes natural light, airflow, and a tactile connection to the earth, we are ready to build that conversation with you.
