Spaces that breathe, light that dances, and structures that feel like home. This is a collection of work where nature is not an afterthought, but the very foundation.

This view captures the heart of a multi-level home I designed, where life unfolds across interconnected spaces. The open staircase, warm wooden flooring, and a unique terracotta disc ceiling are all tied together by an abundance of natural light and indoor greenery, creating a home that feels both expansive and intimate.

Here is the exterior of the same residence, showcasing how the interior's complexity is expressed on the facade. A mix of stone, wood, and glass is softened by cascading greenery, allowing the building to settle into its natural surroundings rather than impose on them.

I believe gardens shouldn't just surround a house, they should live within it. This staircase has a thriving garden at its core, a green space that brings life and fresh air right into the center of the home, transforming a simple flight of stairs into a living feature.

Buildings do talk, and this one speaks of light and form. I designed this space with undulating floors and walls pierced by slits of light, creating a conversation between the structure and the sun. The built-in seating flows organically from the architecture itself.

A terrace can be more than just a roof; it can be a garden retreat. Here, a spiral staircase leads up to a lush green space, blurring the line between the home and the sky. It’s a perfect example of how I integrate functional architecture with living, breathing nature.

This bathroom concept, developed by one of our talented interns, brings a touch of nature's serenity indoors. The design uses natural materials like terracotta tiles and invites sunlight to create a calming space, complete with lush plants that make it feel like a peaceful escape.

Collaboration is at the heart of my process. This video shows a moment with a local artisan, working together to embed a client's creative fabric design into a custom wooden door. This is how we create details that are deeply personal and full of story.

About Featured

When I sit down to design, I am looking for where the sunlight hits at 4 PM, not just where the furniture goes. My focus is on creating living features, like a brick dome ceiling or a garden under your staircase, that make a house feel grounded and alive.

I do not believe in rigid, static homes. My process starts with the earth itself—reclaimed wood, local stone, and clay blocks. In this collection, you will see how I merge these materials to create rooms with life. Whether it is the residence at Pioneer Lake or a compact bathroom design, the goal is the same: to strip away the unnecessary and let the building breathe. We work with natural light to create dynamic spaces, using skylights and carefully positioned wall slits that change the mood of your living area as the sun moves across the sky. From the initial sketch to planting that final sapling, we stay hands-on. If you are tired of sterile designs and want a home that feels like it has a pulse, we should talk about your space.

I am Chaitra, and at Studio Bhoomi, we believe buildings are living things. We work with clay, stone, and sunlight to build homes that feel less like concrete boxes and more like extensions of the garden.
