A labor of love that weaves Carnatic music, dance, and narrative into an immersive journey exploring the heart space.

The first poster for 'Chidambara Rahasyam' in Bengaluru, announcing how a simple idea grew into a full production bringing various art forms and artists together. This show is a true homage to the sacred space of Chidambaram.

A moment of complete immersion during the 'Chidambara Rahasyam' performance. In these moments, it feels less like a performance and more like a collective offering, where both the artists and the audience are connected in a shared experience of devotion.

The dynamic interplay of music and dance was central to this production. This clip showcases dancer Varun Shivakumar bringing the story of Nataraja to life, accompanied by my live Carnatic vocals and a team of wonderful musicians.

A moment of gratitude during the 'Chidambara Rahasyam' show. The overwhelming response, the teary eyes, and the pin-drop silence from the audience were powerful reminders of what art can do: bring people together to dream and feel something profound.

The core team of artists for 'Chidambara Rahasyam'. This production was made possible by a group of people held together by passion, including narrator Vinay Varanasi, violinist Sruti Sarathy, mridangam artist Adamya Ramanand, and dancer Varun Shivakumar.

The official announcement for the Chennai premiere of 'Chidambara Rahasyam', presented as a prelude to Maha Shivarathri. Bringing this unique thematic production to a new city and audience was an exciting milestone for our team.

The full team behind our first 'Chidambara Rahasyam' show in Bangalore. This picture captures the spirit of collaboration and shared passion that brought this vision from an idea to a stage with over 600 people in the audience.

The stage is set for our offering. This simple welcome sign at the entrance captures the essence of the evening, an intimate and heartfelt exploration of the 'Chidambara Rahasyam', the secret of the heart space.

In this clip, I am singing a piece that describes the moment the audience feels the presence of the Lord as 'ananta swarupa', the infinite form. This is the core of our storytelling, using music to transport everyone into the narrative.

An alternate poster design for 'Chidambara Rahasyam', beautifully illustrating the different artistic elements coming together. It shows the seamless blend of narrative, music, and dance that defines this thematic production.

About Chidambara Rahasyam: An Ode to the Heart Space

This isn’t a standard concert where I simply walk on stage and sing. It is a full-scale thematic production where music, dance, and spoken narrative weave together to tell the story of Lord Shiva as Nataraja. My team and I work as a collective to create an immersive experience, ensuring that every song and movement serves the larger narrative of the heart space.

Chidambara Rahasyam is an offering that grew from a simple, shared idea among artists into a full stage production. It explores the story of Chidambaram, not just as a physical location, but as a metaphor for the heart space within us.

What makes this different from a typical performance is the depth of collaboration involved. I perform alongside a core team that includes storyteller Vinay Varanasi, violinist Sruti Sarathy, mridangam artist Adamya Ramanand, and dancer Varun Shivakumar. We combine different art forms to ensure the music isn't just background sound. It becomes the driving force of the narrative, designed to guide the audience through an experience rather than just watching a show.

This production is versatile. We have performed it in large auditoriums for hundreds of people and in intimate halls where the connection with the audience is closer. Whether you are planning a festival event, a cultural program, or a specialized musical gathering, we tailor the production to fit the venue. If you are looking for an experience that blends Carnatic storytelling with high-quality ensemble music and visual storytelling, this performance is designed to resonate with those seeking something profound and deeply felt.

I’m Spoorthi. For me, music has always been about connection and the bhakti that happens when a story is told through sound and movement. I didn't want to just sing; I wanted to create something where the audience feels the stillness in the heart space right along with us.
