This video takes you through my journey of starting 'Objects by Soch'. It began from a need for bespoke furniture and grew into an in-house workshop where my team and I craft unique pieces by blending materials like wood, metal, and stone.

Here I am at the Design Milestone event, explaining my collaborative process and how I blend different materials and crafts to create furniture that tells a story.

Inspired by my Kashmiri heritage, every element, from the carved bed frame to the intricate wall art, is chosen to craft an atmosphere of understated luxury and comfort.10
Showcasing my versatility, this living room blends modern aesthetics with natural serenity. The custom-designed furniture, featuring organic shapes and a soft, neutral palette, creates a space that is both contemporary and incredibly inviting.

The living area of the Layam residence, featuring our Gubbi Sofa with a custom hand-block printed pattern reminiscent of the 'kara' border in Kerala textiles. The space is completed with the Kathakali-inspired Layam center table.60
The TV console at the Layam residence was designed to house a specific sound system. The shutters feature brass sheets and wooden details resembling a Mridangam, fitting for a home centered around music.
The dining set at Layam, featuring chairs with a medley of wood, brass, and a dual-fabric approach for practicality and visual appeal. The chest of drawers behind it has details that resemble the "beats" of music.
A comprehensive look at the Layam residence, a project where we designed all furniture to extend the home's core concept. This series showcases the master bedroom, guest room, study, and living areas, all tied together by a shared design narrative.

Modern Indian Home Furniture Curation

This entire wall is clad in a paneling inspired by Japanese shoji screens, using thin teak wood verticals and black metal batons. It discreetly hides several doors and storage spaces, creating an illusion of connectivity and adding length to the passage.9
Memories on a wall. This small nook features corner shelves displaying curated books and objects. The textured wall paneling next to it adds another layer of detail, showing how we use every corner to add storage and personality.
A sleek, black burnt-wood shelf is filled with curios from around the world. This guest bedroom is designed to be a place to reminisce and laze, and these personal objects, carefully arranged, add to the room's story and character.
This floating study desk in a guest bedroom is a great solution for small spaces. Made of black burnt wood with cane-front drawers, it is paired with a matching chair. The design is sleek, functional, and uses natural materials to add warmth.
