The living room features a stunning book-matched marble TV wall, a custom grooved wood TV unit, and a unique curved bar cabinet. The design is a "melange" of textures, materials, and forms, creating a space that is eclectic and luxurious.
The master bedroom exudes classic elegance with a white and wood color palette. The bed and wardrobe are crafted from solid wood, creating a serene and natural atmosphere perfect for a tranquil retirement space.
The guest room embraces a rustic aesthetic with a four-poster bed and an indigo brick-patterned wall. The wardrobe doors are cleverly camouflaged with a diagonal geometric pattern made from stained wood.
The kids' room is a playful space following an RGB theme with pastel shades. The Murphy bed, which transforms from a couch to a bed, is a smart solution that maximizes play space for the girls.

About The Melange House: An Eclectic Fusion
Blending distinct cultural elements, such as Victorian moulding with olive-toned Indian textures, requires precise structural planning to avoid visual clutter. We focus heavily on material transitions, ensuring that statement pieces, such as the book-matched marble or custom teak woodwork, are balanced by practical design choices that maintain spatial flow.
The Melange House was an exercise in layering global influences without losing the core identity of the home. My approach here was to avoid the standard 'minimalist' trend, opting instead for a space that feels collected and intentional.
In the dining area, we introduced Victorian-style moulding against olive green walls to provide a rich, moody foundation. The drama comes from the contrast between this classical framing and the custom teakwood and brass furniture we crafted in-house. It is this specific intersection—where traditional Indian craft meets global design motifs—that anchors the project.
The functional requirements were equally significant. In the kids' room, the primary challenge was balancing playfulness with the need for multi-functional utility. We utilized a Murphy bed mechanism that allows the room to transform from a couch area to a sleeping zone, maximizing floor space. This is paired with custom-fluted wardrobe doors and themed handles to create a cohesive environment that is both whimsical and durable.
Every decision, from the choice of black marble for the bathroom to the book-matched patterns on the TV wall, was made to ensure the interiors are not just visually striking, but practically sound for daily life in Mumbai. We prioritize material integrity, ensuring that the teak, marble, and brass finishes age well and remain central to the home's long-term character.
