Thinking about joining a class but not sure where to start? Let’s clear the air. We’re busting common Pilates myths and sharing what you actually need to know before stepping onto the reformer.

Myth 1: Pilates is only for women. Fact: Pilates benefits everyone, regardless of gender. It's a fantastic way for men to build core strength, improve flexibility, and prevent injuries.

Myth 2: You need to be flexible to do Pilates. Fact: You come to Pilates to get flexible. Our workouts are modified for all fitness levels, helping you improve your range of motion safely.

Myth 3: Pilates is just about abs. Fact: Pilates is a full-body workout, targeting strength, balance, and flexibility from head to toe, not just the core.

Core strength equals confidence. We use props like these 3kg dumbbells to add a strength training component to our Pilates workouts, helping you build a powerful and stable core.

Sunday Tip: Your posture affects your mental state. Slouching can increase feelings of depression, so correcting your posture can help you feel more confident and happy. Pilates is one of the best ways to do this.

Pilates is for everyone, no matter your age or fitness level. We welcome all to join our community and start their journey to a stronger, more balanced body.

Small movements, big results. This is the core principle of Pilates, where every controlled motion is designed to create significant changes in your body's strength and alignment.

Let's bust some common Pilates myths. Our studio is a place of facts and results, where we show you what this incredible workout method can really do.

Did you know Joseph Pilates developed his method in a World War I detention camp? His principles of promoting strength, flexibility, and well-being are what we continue to practice today.

About Pilates Explained: Myths & Facts

If you’re worried about walking in and not knowing what to do, don't be. Our sessions at the studio—whether it’s on the Balanced Body Allegro Reformer or the Cadillac—are fully guided by certified trainers who watch your form. We don't just count reps; we adjust the springs and props like the Magic Circle to your specific strength level, so you’re always challenged but never overwhelmed.

Is Pilates for Everyone?

Short answer: Yes. A major myth we hear is that you need to be flexible to start. The reality is you come to Pilates to get flexible. Whether you are dealing with a knee injury, managing PCOS, or are a complete beginner, we modify movements to meet your body where it is.

Breaking Down the Myths

  • Pilates is just for women: This is one of the biggest misconceptions. Pilates is an incredible tool for men to build deep core strength, improve athletic performance, and prevent injuries. Our sessions are gender-neutral and focused on results.
  • It is just about abs: While your core will definitely get a workout, Pilates is a full-body discipline. We use props like dumbbells and the Reformer to target your glutes, inner thighs, and back. It is about total body alignment.
  • You need to be fit to join: You don't walk in fit; you walk in to get fit. Our trainers act as your hype crew, ensuring that every movement is controlled and effective, regardless of your starting point.

The Reformer Difference

Why the machine? The Reformer uses a system of springs and a sliding carriage to provide resistance that your own body weight can't match. It forces you to maintain control during both the lengthening and contracting phases of a movement. This isn't just a workout; it’s a way to fix your posture and energy levels. If you have been feeling sluggish or dealing with aches from sitting at a desk, the core work we do helps correct that hunch and makes you feel more confident, or as we like to say, fit hai tabhi hit hai (if you are fit, you are a hit).
