An instructor provides gentle assistance in Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend), ensuring the student maintains proper alignment to safely stretch the spine and hamstrings.

Students practice Ashwa Sanchalanasana (Equestrian Pose) as part of the Surya Namaskar sequence. This pose is excellent for stretching the hips and strengthening the legs.

Students hold Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose), a foundational backbend that strengthens the spine and opens the chest. Our classes move at a steady pace to help you build strength and awareness.

An instructor makes a subtle adjustment to a student's Triangle Pose, a common practice in our classes to help you experience the full expression of the asana.

Our beginner classes are held in a bright and welcoming space, with portraits of our gurus, Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda, creating a serene atmosphere for practice.

Personal attention is a cornerstone of our teaching. Here, an instructor helps students deepen their seated forward bend, offering guidance for a more beneficial stretch.

About Yoga for Beginners: Your First Step

When you join our four-week foundation course, you are not just learning a routine; you are learning how to practice safely. Because we know beginners often worry about alignment, our teachers provide hands-on adjustments during every session to ensure you are comfortable. Plus, we do not end your learning when the course finishes—we include 10 bonus practice classes to help you maintain your momentum.

Your Path to Classical Yoga

Yoga is a journey, not a race. At our Dwarka centre, our beginner course is designed to provide you with the theory and practice of Hatha yoga. We follow the teachings of Swami Vishnudevananda, ensuring that you learn the 12 basic postures (asanas) in a way that respects your body and its limitations.

What Our Course Covers

  • Asanas: Detailed instruction on the 12 core postures, including the Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar).
  • Pranayama: Proper breathing techniques like Kapalabhati and alternate nostril breathing to cleanse the lungs and focus the mind.
  • Relaxation: We teach Savasana (Corpse Pose) not as a nap, but as a deep, conscious technique for physical and mental restoration.
  • Yogic Philosophy: An introduction to the five points of yoga, covering diet, positive thinking, and meditation.

Why Practice with Us?

Our classes are held in a bright, dedicated space with wooden flooring, away from the distractions of a commercial gym. We believe in building a community, so our sessions include chanting and a shared, non-competitive energy. Whether you are looking to recover from back pain, build flexibility, or simply find a moment of peace, this course provides the tools to establish a sustainable practice. By the end of these four weeks, you will have the confidence to practice independently and the foundation to explore more advanced variations or specialized workshops if you choose to continue.
