Turning my love for desi culture into wearable art. I paint everything from traditional Madhubani patterns to bold Truck Art motifs on your favourite kicks.

Here's a tower of my recent Truck Art inspired creations. I painted these Nike Air Force 1s for a client, each with different motifs but using a similar vibrant colour palette. It shows how you can have coordinated but unique pairs.

This is a mismatched pair of Nike Air Force 1s I created for a client who wanted something truly outlandish. I combined different Indian folk art patterns and colours on each shoe, creating a maximalist design that is full of energy and personality.

A side view of the custom mismatched Indian art sneakers. You can see how the different patterns, from floral motifs to geometric checks, come together. I love playing with primary colours to make the designs pop.

A top-down view of the maximalist Indian art sneakers. The design on the toe box is different for each shoe, one featuring a floral pattern and the other a geometric star, making them a true one-of-one pair.

Another angle of the mismatched Indian art sneakers, showing the different swoosh colours. One is a bold yellow and the other a classic blue, tying into the various colours used across the shoe.

A shot of both mismatched Indian art sneakers together. This project was pure joy, creating a crazy, unique pair for someone who truly cherishes wearing handmade, expressive art.

This pair of custom Pumas combines two of my favourite Indian art forms: Kalamkari and Madhubani. The intricate patterns and vibrant birds and flowers create a stunning visual story. This was a special pair made for a fellow artist.

A closer look at the Kalamkari-inspired side of the custom Puma sneakers. The detail in the birds and foliage is something I spent a lot of time on, ensuring every element was precise and beautiful.

Another angle showing the rich, dense patterns of the Kalamkari artwork. I used a dark background to make the colourful motifs stand out, just like in traditional Kalamkari textiles.

About Vibrant Indian Artistry

When I paint these Indian art styles, it is not just about the final look. I spend a lot of time on the base prep because Indian motifs require super precise linework. I use professional leather acrylics that flex with the shoe, so you do not have to worry about the paint cracking when you walk. It is a slow, methodical process, but it ensures your shoes stay vibrant for years.

Why choose Indian art for your sneakers? It is about carrying a piece of culture with you. Whether you want the chaotic energy of Delhi Truck Art, the delicate florals of Kalamkari, or the bold geometric patterns of Madhubani, I treat every shoe as a high-detail painting surface.

The process starts with a blank canvas, usually a Nike Air Force 1 or Puma, which I prep specifically for leather paint adhesion. I do not use stencils. Everything you see, from the bird motifs to the intricate borders, is drawn and painted by hand.

People often ask if the art survives the streets. The answer is yes. I seal every pair with an industrial-grade top coat, making them waterproof and scratch-resistant. You can wear these in the rain or on a daily basis, and the colours will hold up.

Have a specific colour palette in mind? Or want a mismatched pair like the ones I did for Rohan Shrestha? Let me know. I love working on creative briefs that push the boundaries of traditional art.
