About Hand-Painted Wearable Art
Just a heads-up on care: because these are hand-painted using acrylic leather paints, they are not machine washable. They handle light rain or a splash of water just fine, but I recommend a gentle wipe with a damp cloth to keep the patterns looking fresh. I source generic, comfortable white sneakers from local markets as the canvas, so we can focus on getting the design and fit exactly right for you.
How We Design Your Sneakers
I treat every pair of sneakers like a small, wearable art project. When you reach out, we don't just talk about a design; we talk about your vibe. Do you want something bold and full of color, or are you looking for the classic, calming aesthetic of black and white mandalas?
The Process:
- Collaboration: We start by discussing the motifs—whether you love florals, geometric patterns, or a mix of both. You can even choose to add a name or a meaningful date.
- Coverage: My designs typically cover 40 to 50 percent of the shoe surface. I focus on the toe box, the sides, and the heel tabs to make sure the art flows naturally with the shape of the sneaker.
- Protection: Once the painting is finished, I apply 2 to 3 coats of acrylic finisher and varnish. This protects your art from dust and light moisture so you can wear them out and about.
Why Hand-Painted?
To me, art should be part of daily life, not just something hanging on a wall.
