This is the first look into my world of choreography and music. Each piece here is selected to give you a sense of the scale, emotion, and deep-rooted tradition that I bring to every project. From grand stage productions to the quiet moments of creation, this is a glimpse of my pursuit of 'rasa', the aesthetic bliss that defines my art.
18 Days: The Mahabharata Saga
This is my signature production, '18 Days: Dusk of an Era', a large-scale dance drama that reinterprets the Mahabharata. I handle everything from the core concept and choreography to the original music score, blending traditional dance forms with modern stage technology to create an immersive theatrical experience.
New Mythological Productions
While '18 Days' is a cornerstone, my work is constantly evolving. This section showcases other large-scale productions and upcoming projects, from the tale of 'Govardhana Leela' to the story of 'Kathaastra'. Each new production is an opportunity to explore different stories from our Puranas and experiment with fresh choreographic and musical ideas.
The Composer's Craft: Music & Rhythm
Music is not just background; it is the soul of the performance. I compose original scores for my productions, blending Carnatic and Hindustani styles to create a sound that is both new and deeply traditional. This section offers a look into my process as a composer, from creating complex rhythmic cycles to directing music for various projects.
Solo Artistry: Kathak & Abhinaya
Beyond large-scale productions, I am a dedicated solo performer. My solo work is where I explore the nuances of Kathak and the depths of Abhinaya (expression). Whether creating abstract rhythmic pieces or interpreting devotional poetry, these performances are a personal and intimate expression of my art.
Harikatha: The Art of Storytelling
Rooted in the ancient tradition of Harikatha, I use storytelling to break down complex philosophical ideas and mythological tales into digestible lessons. These 'quick bits' and podcast discussions are my way of sharing the wisdom of the shastras in a manner that is accessible and relevant to a contemporary audience.
Behind the Scenes & Workshops
Art is not just the final performance; it is the hours of practice, rehearsal, and teaching that build the foundation. This is a look at the work that happens off-stage, from choreographing with my students to conducting workshops. It is in the studio that we refine our craft and build the strong team that makes our productions possible.
Recognition & Guru Parampara
My art is built on the blessings of my Guru and the appreciation of my audience. This section is a collection of cherished moments of recognition, from prestigious awards to heartfelt testimonials from respected figures. It also pays homage to my Guru, Pt. Rajendra Gangani, whose guidance is the foundation of my artistic journey.
