Getting coaching from someone who sits on the judge’s panel for World Cups changes the game. I bring that international perspective directly to our floor in Varthur, helping you understand exactly what the FIG code of points demands.

Officially an FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics International Judge! Passing this course was a huge milestone, and it means I can offer my students the most current and expert feedback on their routines.

Continuous learning is key. Here I am with fellow coaches after completing the FIG Level 2 Academy Program in Bangkok, where we shared knowledge and passion for gymnastics with participants from seven countries.

It was an honor to represent India as a judge at the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Milan. This experience at the highest level of the sport directly benefits the gymnasts I train.

Judging at the Asian Games Selection trials was a fantastic experience. Being part of the process to select India's best gymnasts reinforces the high standards we aim for in our own training.

Proud to be a part of the Khelo India Youth Games 2023. These national-level events are crucial for the growth of gymnastics in India, and I'm thrilled to contribute as a technical official.

About this collection

When you train with an active judge, you stop guessing why a routine did not score well. I focus heavily on the FIG Code of Points during our sessions, meaning we break down every 'penche' and pivot not just for form, but for maximum technical difficulty score. You learn to perform for the people holding the scoring tablets.

Most gymnasts train hard, but training smart involves knowing exactly what judges look for when they mark your execution and difficulty. Having judged at the World Cup and Asian Games trials, I see where points are frequently lost—often in the small details of how a pivot is held or how an apparatus is caught.

Why Global Standards Matter

Training with an FIG Level 2 certified coach isn't just about getting a routine done. It is about understanding the criteria that separate a good performance from a winning one. We apply this standard whether you are just starting your journey in Varthur or you are a competitive athlete aiming for the national circuit.

Our Training Approach

  • Routine Analysis: I review existing routines to spot missed scoring opportunities in your choreography.
  • Technical Precision: We work on body difficulties like illusions and walks, ensuring they meet the technical requirements for your age category.
  • Apparatus Mastery: From hoop to ribbon, we ensure your handling technique minimizes execution deductions.

It is tough work, and there are days when you might feel like giving up. But I am here to help you get back up, adjust your form, and try again until it clicks. If you are serious about gymnastics, I am here to ensure you walk onto the floor with total confidence in your routine.

I am Shailja, and rhythmic gymnastics is my life. Between judging at World Cups and training my students here in Bengaluru, I live for that moment when a gymnast finally nails a difficult routine. It is a balancing act of discipline and fun, with my dogs cheering me on from the sidelines.
