Mastering the Art of Rhythmic Gymnastics
Rhythmic gymnastics is where raw strength meets artistic expression. Whether you are mastering the hoop or perfecting a ribbon routine, I help you turn movement into art.
Gymnastics is a form of expression. Here's a contemporary acrobatic piece I choreographed, blending elements of dance and rhythmic gymnastics to create a unique performance.
That feeling when you finally nail a difficult move after countless tries. This video captures the perseverance required in rhythmic gymnastics, where every small success is a major victory.
A simple hoop routine in the studio. Mastering the basics of apparatus handling is the first step towards creating complex and beautiful choreography.
A synchronized hoop routine with a partner. This kind of training builds timing, coordination, and a great connection between gymnasts.
Having some fun with clubs, an apparatus that requires incredible coordination. We even explore men's rhythmic gymnastics styles to broaden our creative horizons.
A quick look into my life. From my dog to my passion for rhythmic gymnastics, movement and joy are at the center of everything I do.
About this collection
You might see the flow, but rhythmic gymnastics is essentially controlled power. When we train with apparatus like the hoop or clubs, it is not just about spinning them; it is about timing and core mechanics. If you are starting out, we focus heavily on posture and base strength first. It is hard work, no doubt—kabhi kabhi you will feel like giving up—but nailing that sequence feels epic. I will teach you how to handle the apparatus so it becomes an extension of your body, rather than something you are struggling to control.
Beyond the Ribbon
It is easy to get distracted by the aesthetic of ribbons and hoops, but the art of movement starts with the grind. At my academy in Varthur, we do not just teach routines; we build the technical foundation required to make them look effortless.
Apparatus Mastery
Whether it is the ball, clubs, hoop, or rope, each piece of apparatus demands a unique grip and rhythm. My training strategy focuses on 'apparatus handling'—ensuring the equipment feels natural. We break down elements like the Penche and Illusions into actionable mechanics so you are not just swinging a hoop, but dancing with it.
Choreography & Expression
This is where the sport transforms into art. A 90-second routine is a balancing act of difficulty scores and artistic flair. As an FIG Level 2 judge, I do not just teach you moves; I teach you how to score. We look at the 'Code of Points' and build a narrative that fits your specific age and skill category.
The Process
If you are a beginner, we start with posture because you cannot nail a ribbon toss if your core is shaky. For those eyeing state or national meets, we shift to conditioning and artistic projection—eye contact, toe points, and musicality. It is a total reset of how you perceive movement, whether you are coming from a dance background or starting from zero.
