Meditation and Outdoor Gasshuku Camps
Beyond the physical training of the dojo, I host specialized meditation sessions and annual Gasshuku camps to help you find your center and reconnect with your inner spirit.
Our annual Gasshuku camp is a time for rejuvenation. We practice karate and meditation outdoors, connecting with nature and our inner spirit as the sun rises over the mountains. It is an experience that strengthens both body and mind.

This poster is for one of my meditation seminars, which are open to all students, family, and friends. I guide participants through practices to find their center and cultivate inner peace, a core component of the Seido philosophy.
About Mind & Spirit: Meditation and Outdoor Camps
In my meditation sessions, we focus on Zazen, or seated silent contemplation, combined with Ibuki breathing techniques to calm the mind. These gatherings are not just quiet moments but a vital part of building the mental clarity we take back into our daily lives, and they are open to everyone, whether or not you have previously practiced karate.
Karate is often mistaken for just fighting, but at Seido Karate, we treat it as a path to holistic development. My meditation workshops are designed to teach you how to center your energy. In a typical 45 to 60-minute session held at our Club 15A facility, we practice Mokuso (silent contemplation) and structured breathing. This mental discipline is the foundation of everything else we do, from basic katas to intense self-defense drills.
For a deeper experience, I organize annual Gasshuku camps in the mountains. This is where we truly step away from the noise of city life in Noida. During these camps, we spend over 10 hours in outdoor training, hiking, and group meditation. The environment in the mountains allows us to practice in a clean, pristine space, which is essential for rejuvenation and rededication. We emphasize the Seido philosophy of sincerity and respect throughout these retreats.
These events are designed to be accessible to everyone, including family members and friends who might not be regular students. Whether you are looking to learn basic Zazen, improve your focus through breath control, or challenge yourself in a natural setting, these camps and sessions provide the space to do so. If you have any questions about our meditation techniques or our next scheduled mountain camp, feel free to reach out directly.
