Classical Hatha Yoga Practices for Inner Balance
Learn traditional, precise yogic practices that you can perform independently for life. No props, no music, just specific techniques for body and breath alignment.
Surya Kriya is the original practice from which the common Surya Namaskar was derived. It is a potent yogic practice for complete inner well being, and the precision is key. Even taking one extra breath can make a difference, which is why learning it correctly in a workshop is so important.
This is Padahastasana, a fundamental forward-bending posture. In my workshops, you learn not just the posture itself, but the intricate details of alignment, breath, and awareness that turn a simple physical act into a profound yogic process.
Your breath is directly linked to your mental and emotional states. Through Pranayama, or conscious breathing techniques, you can alter not just your mind, but the very way your life energies function. Here are three key things to remember: breathe fully, slowly, and with complete focus.
A mantra is not just a sound you repeat; it is a key that can unlock different dimensions of life within you. When learned from a proper source and uttered with awareness, specific sounds can activate energy in different parts of your body, but it must be approached as a science.
How do you stop the mind's constant chatter? As Sadhguru says, you can only become silent when you realize you don't know anything. When you see the futility of your own thoughts, you can simply look at life with wonder, and the mind will naturally quiet down. This is a state we work towards in our meditation practices.
About Core Practices You Will Learn
Learning these practices is not about following a video but about mastering the specific geometry of your body and breath. Whether it is the 21-step Surya Kriya or the elemental purification of Bhuta Shuddhi, precision is non-negotiable. I focus on correcting your micro-alignments so that you can practice independently, without any props or guidance, once you leave the workshop.
Beyond Fitness Yoga
Most people come to me thinking yoga is just stretching for back pain or weight loss. My workshops are different. We strip away the music, the ropes, and the props to return to the root of Classical Hatha Yoga. As a former CA, I appreciate systems and logic, and that is exactly how I teach: as a practical, replicable science.
The Practices You Will Master
- Surya Kriya: This is not your average Surya Namaskar. It is a 21-step solar practice designed for complete inner well-being. We cover the breath integration and spinal alignment in detail because taking one extra breath changes the entire process.
- Bhuta Shuddhi: A powerful, elemental purification method. This is a 10-minute daily practice that cleanses your system at a fundamental level. You receive the necessary kit, including copper gear and consumables, to maintain your practice at home.
- Pranayama & Asanas: We work on specific postures to align your mental and physical states. When you learn to breathe fully and slowly, you stop the constant chatter of the mind.
Workshop Logistics
I keep group sizes small—between 8 and 12 people—so I can personally observe your movements and offer hands-on corrections. These are not drop-in classes. They are structured programs where you learn a complete sequence over a weekend. Once the workshop ends, you have a set of techniques for life. If you ever feel your alignment has slipped, I offer low-cost review sessions to get you back on track.
