About Our Stars on Stage
Performing on stage is a core component of our curriculum, not just an occasional extra. We provide live Tabla and Pakhawaj accompaniment for our stage performances, ensuring students learn to synchronize their nritya with real-time rhythm rather than relying on recorded tracks. This grounding in live music prepares every dancer for the nuance of true performance.
Building Confidence Through Performance
For us, the stage is a classroom. While technique is built in the studio, it is refined under the spotlight of the rangmanch. Our students, from the youngest 'munchkins' to our more experienced performers, participate in annual events like Sarvaang and Taranga. These are not just recitals; they are structured performance opportunities that allow our students to showcase the taal (rhythm), laya (tempo), and bhaav (expression) they have worked hard to master.
The Sangeet Bharati Approach
Located in Mandi House, our center follows a Gurukul-style environment. We believe that classical dance, whether Kathak or Bharatnatyam, requires a deep connection between the student and the art form. Our batches are small, ensuring that our gurus can provide direct feedback on mudras, tatkaar (footwork), and posture.
