My band, Murshid, is 14 members strong and we play everything fully live, from tabla and dholak to electric guitars and keyboards. Because we perform completely live without backing tracks, we can shift our energy instantly based on the crowd. Whether you want a heartfelt rendition of 'Dulhe Ka Sehra' to welcome the couple or a high-tempo Punjabi set to get guests dancing, we adjust our performance in real-time to suit the mood of your reception.

For a grand wedding reception, the music needs to be as dynamic as the evening itself. My approach is to build the atmosphere, starting with emotional, classical renditions that set a graceful tone as guests arrive. As the evening progresses and the mood lightens, we seamlessly transition into high-energy Bollywood, Sufi fusion, and upbeat Punjabi dance mixes.

We do not use canned or pre-recorded music. The full 14-piece band ensures that the sound is rich, deep, and fills the venue regardless of the size. Our repertoire is wide, spanning from legends like Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to modern Bollywood hits.

How We Work

• Interactive Performance: We specialize in bringing the guests and the couple into the performance, making the show feel like a personal celebration rather than a distant concert.
• Technical Requirements: Because we use a full live setup, we require a professional sound setup from your venue or AV partner. We provide a full tech rider once we finalize your booking to ensure the audio quality is perfect.
• Tailored Sets: Each 150-minute show is customized. If your family prefers more Ghazals and Sufi music over high-tempo dance, we balance the setlist accordingly.
