Don't let the name scare you. The Frankenstein is my messy, layered masterpiece: chewy cookie dough, creamy cheesecake, salted caramel, and a boozy Old Monk ganache. It is the dessert that built Salt.

Meet my little monster, the Frankenstein. I'm explaining the story behind our oldest and most popular cake, made from bits and pieces of delicious stuff we had in the kitchen. If you haven't tried it, you really need to.

It all starts with the base. This is our chocolate chip cookie dough, rich and ready to form the foundation of the Frankenstein cake.
