Rangwang in Goa: 5-Day Dance & Arts Retreat
Join me for 5 days in Mandrem to reconnect with your body through Kathak, contemporary movement, and the rhythm of the ocean.
Announcing Rangwang 2.0 in Goa! I am partnering with the Travel Dirty team again to bring you another immersive dance experience, this time on the serene beaches of Mandrem. Get in touch for the full brochure to join us.
This gives you a deeper look into what the Goa retreat is all about. We will start each morning with an immersive technique class in Kathak and contemporary movement, and then step out to craft our own stories inspired by Goa's nature and culture.
A snapshot of the experiences planned for our Goa retreat. The itinerary includes daily dance classes, evening Abhinaya workshops, a Goan cooking class with a local family, a hand-building pottery session, and a dance picnic on the beach.
About Rangwang in Goa: Our Next Chapter
While we start each morning with 3 hours of rigorous Kathak technique, the real challenge here is the sand resistance training on the Mandrem beach. It changes your grounding, makes you work harder for every spin, and honestly, feels a bit like dancing on quicksand—in the best, most challenging way possible. We follow that with pottery and cooking, balancing the intensity of the floor with the quiet pace of a local Goan kitchen.
A Space to Create, Not Just Perform
This retreat isn't about perfecting a routine for a stage. It is about pal pal jeena—living in the moment. Over these 5 days in Mandrem, we strip away the performance anxiety and get back to why we dance in the first place: freedom.
The Daily Rhythm
We keep the group small because that is the only way to make this work. Mornings are for technique. We focus on Kathak footwork and contemporary fluid movement, pushing your limits in the sand. By the evening, we slow down. We move into Abhinaya sessions, finding the stories in your movement, and then shift gears completely with pottery workshops or learning local Goan recipes.
What's Included
We handle the logistics so you can focus on the movement:
- Stay: 4 nights in a boutique villa in Mandrem or Ashwem.
- Food: Full board plan, including a traditional Goan Saraswat family lunch.
- Travel: Private airport transfers and local transport for all workshop venues.
- The Keepsake: A professional mini video edit of your performance on the beach.
This is not a vacation where you just sit by the pool. It is a residency. You will sweat, you will get tired, and you will leave with a new community. If you are looking to deepen your practice and find that 'Ghar wali Diwali' feeling in a new place, this is for you.
