Indian Folk & Festive Dance Workshops
Celebrate our culture through movement. Whether it is the energy of Garba or the grace of Rajasthani folk, I focus on the joy of the rhythm rather than perfection. Come, let's dance, stress-free. â¨
Getting into the festive spirit for Navratri. The flow of a traditional outfit is part of the dance itself, and I love teaching how to use it to add grace to your Garba or folk dance moves.
A happy twirl during Navratri celebrations. My folk dance workshops in Jodhpur and Bengaluru are all about embracing these joyful moments and connecting with our rich traditions.
Letting the dupatta fly, feeling the rhythm of the festivities. This is the essence of folk dance, a celebration of life and nature that I love sharing with my students.
A smile and a spin. In my workshops, we learn the basics of folk dance, focusing on posture, grace, and the joy of movement that defines styles like Rajasthani folk and Garba.
Finding peace and happiness in the details of our traditions. This moment captures the gentle and expressive side of Indian folk dance that we explore in my classes.
The beauty of traditional wear adds so much to a festive dance. Here, I am ready for a Garba night, feeling connected to the energy of Navratri.
A candid moment of movement. Folk dance is not about perfection, it's about feeling the music in your soul and letting your body respond naturally.
Standing grounded and ready to dance. This full look shows the traditional attire for a festive performance, which helps in getting the feel of the folk dance style right.
About Indian Folk & Festive Workshops
In these sessions, we focus as much on the 'flow' as the footwork. If you're wearing a Saree or Lehenga, I show you how to move with the fabric rather than fighting against it. We don't just learn steps; we learn how to carry the grace of the dance, so you feel comfortable and joyful, even if youâre a total beginner. â¨
Festivals are when the soul feels most alive. My Indian folk and festive dance workshops are designed to help you connect with that energy. Whether we are practicing the high-energy spins of Garba or the rhythmic, grounding movements of Rajasthani folk, the goal is always the same: to find your own 'safe space' in the movement.
Why join a folk dance workshop?
- No judgment, just vibe: You donât need to be a pro. My classes are for everyone, whether you have two left feet or just want to shake off the week.
- Learn with what you wear: I teach you how to handle your traditional outfits. A Saree or Lehenga can be heavy, but once you learn the right posture, it becomes part of the dance.
- Inclusive atmosphere: I conduct these sessions for small to medium groups in both Bengaluru and Jodhpur. Itâs about building a community where everyone feels free to express themselves.
What we explore:
- Festive choreography: From Navratri-special Garba moves to regional folk routines, we pick music that makes you want to move.
- Posture and grace: Folk dance is about grounding. We focus on basic isolation exercises to help you feel steady and confident on the dance floor.
- Confidence for events: If you are learning for a family gathering or a festive event, I provide tips on camera angles and performance flow so you can record your best self.
Whether youâre a complete beginner looking to try something new or someone who loves the festive spirit, my workshops are about collecting memories and loving your people. Letâs find the rhythm together. đ§ż
