Journey Inward: Discover Yourself Through Creative Writing
I help you find your own voice through creative writing and coaching, not by fixing you, but by creating a space where you can finally hear yourself.
My approach to coaching has been a journey of personal growth, moving from instruction to true partnership. I once believed my role was to push from the sidelines, but experience taught me that true support comes from vulnerability and shared experience. Now, I get in the canoe with you, admitting I also need support sometimes, and together we navigate the waters. This is how we find our courage and overcome fear, side by side.
In my 'Rhythm & Rhyme' workshop for women, a moment of shared realization led to this beautiful burst of laughter. We were exploring the pressures to change for the world and found freedom in self acceptance. This is the magic of a safe space, where we can hold each other, heal, and give birth to new, more loving versions of ourselves through creative writing and connection.
These are some of the 'Aha moments' from an expressive writing workshop for adolescent girls, where we explored their relationship with their bodies. It is incredible to witness them connect with their authentic selves, some for the first time. Through poetry and safe, collaborative sharing, they discovered that their body is a friend and that expressing their feelings is a powerful tool for self care and empowerment.
I believe your life is your story, and you are the one who gets to write it. This is the core of my coaching philosophy. We use simple tools like journaling and creative writing not to become perfect writers, but to become the authors of our own lives. It is a way to discover the story that is waiting inside you.
Witnessing the growth of the young adults I work with is the most fulfilling part of my journey. These testimonials from Taniya and Anjali, two bright souls from the Maitri community, warm my heart. Coaching helped them find their inner calm and confidence, reminding me that this work is a beautiful exchange of giving and receiving.
Here I am facilitating an interactive session on intercultural communication for students at Mohawk College. I have found that the most profound learning happens not from a presentation, but from genuine connection. When I take the time to learn and use a student's name, or share my own vulnerabilities as an introvert, we build a relationship of trust where everyone feels they matter.
This is a glimpse into a workshop with parents, where we explore how to support their children's creativity and self discovery. The real shift happens when parents realize the work begins with them. By moving from lecturing to listening and embracing their own vulnerability, they create a home environment where everyone can grow together.
I often hear people say they don't have time to do nothing, to just sit or take a walk. I believe these moments of "wasting time" are the most valuable investments we can make in our relationship with ourselves. It is in this quiet space, away from the to do lists, that we find the clarity and peace needed to create the life we truly want.
About Featured
In these sessions, we leave the pressure of 'perfect' writing at the door. Whether we are journaling about body image or exploring parenting knots, my role is to act as your sootradhar—the thread that holds the space together while you explore your own narrative. You do not need to be a writer to join; you only need to show up as yourself. We use poetry, prompts, and quiet reflection to unearth the thoughts that have been waiting for your attention, not for anyone else's judgment.
Many of us spend our lives looking for answers outside—in achievements, roles, or external validation. My coaching and workshops are an invitation to stop looking out and start looking within.
How We Work
My methodology centers on the idea that writing is medicine. It is not about grammar or literary skill; it is about bypassing the inner critic. When you put pen to paper, you create distance between your thoughts and your identity, allowing you to observe patterns rather than being consumed by them.
- For Teens: We navigate the complexities of school, friendships, and body image. It is about building a foundation of self-trust before the world tells them who to be.
- For Parents: We explore the art of 'unparenting,' helping you move from a place of lecturing to one of listening, creating a home environment where everyone feels heard.
- For Adults: Whether you feel stuck in a career or just disconnected from your creative spark, we use bibliotherapy and guided introspection to find clarity.
The Space
My sessions are built on the belief that sab chalta hai (everything is welcome). If you show up feeling messy, confused, or lost, that is exactly where we start. I don’t believe in handing out prescriptive answers or rigid roadmaps. Instead, I use a combination of mindfulness and the 'Observation-Reflection-Action' framework to help you reclaim ownership of your story.
Whether it is a 1-on-1 session involving deep bibliotherapy or a small group cohort limited to six people, my aim is to facilitate a shift. By the time we finish, you will likely find that the answers you were searching for were there all along, waiting for you to pick up the pen.
