Workshops for Women: Finding Your Voice
Rediscover your own story in a space where being real matters more than being perfect.
In my 'Rhythm & Rhyme' workshop for women, a moment of shared realization led to this beautiful burst of laughter. We were exploring the pressures to change for the world and found freedom in self acceptance. This is the magic of a safe space, where we can hold each other, heal, and give birth to new, more loving versions of ourselves through creative writing and connection.
About Workshops for Women: Finding Your Voice
In these sessions, we trade perfection for honesty. We do not just write; we practice listening to ourselves. My role is to hold the thread—the 'sootradhar'—while you untangle the knots, laugh at the absurdity of our shared struggles, and find the clarity that comes from being truly heard in a safe, private group setting.
Many women come to me when they feel they have lost their creative spark or have spent years prioritizing everyone else’s voice above their own. This workshop isn't about learning how to write; it is about learning how to show up for yourself. We work in small, intimate cohorts of no more than six participants because I believe deep, honest connection requires a space where everyone has the time and safety to speak.
What we actually do
Our sessions are built on the 'observation-reflection-action' framework. We use simple prompts, poetry, and journaling to move past the surface-level noise of daily life. You might arrive feeling messy or confused—sab chalta hai (everything is welcome). Whether it is navigating a life transition, finding confidence, or simply learning to set boundaries, we use the act of writing to help you see your own thoughts clearly.
Why this approach works
- Permission to be human: We do not chase awards or perfect grammar. We chase honesty.
- Shared wisdom: In our group sessions, you will find that your 'stuck' moments are often shared by others. There is immense power in realizing you are not the only one feeling this way.
- The 'Sootradhar' effect: I act as the thread connecting our collective experiences. I facilitate the space, ask the questions that help you dig deeper, and ensure that every woman in the circle is seen and heard.
By the end of our time together, most participants notice a shift—thoughts feel calmer, the heart feels lighter, and the next steps they need to take become obvious. You do not need to be a writer to begin this journey; you just need to be willing to be curious about yourself.
