From Concept to Construction: Our Design Process
Every project begins with a hand-drawn sketch before it takes shape on the ground. We bridge the gap between initial design vision and final on-site execution, ensuring the reality matches the plan.
A preliminary concept sketch for a terrace garden. This type of freehand drawing is a crucial first step in our process, allowing us to quickly visualize and communicate the spatial arrangement and key features of a new landscape design.
Our work is deeply inspired by the principles of master architects like Geoffrey Bawa, who masterfully blended buildings with nature. This image shows one of our hand-drawn elevations alongside a source of our inspiration, reflecting our commitment to the craft.

About From Concept to Construction
A sketch is just the start. The real architecture happens during site execution, where we manage the balance of topography, soil, and plant health. We bridge the gap between our 3D renders and your actual plot, handling everything from material selection to the inevitable, on-the-ground problem solving that ensures your space is built to last.
Architecture is rarely a straight line from idea to finish. Our process is designed to handle the reality of construction, turning concepts into functional, sustainable spaces.
The Sketch-to-Site Journey
We believe in the power of hand-drawn sketches. It allows us to explore spatial flow and hardscape layouts without the distraction of digital limitations. Once the vision is clear, we translate those artistic concepts into rigorous technical documentation—the GFC drawings. These are not just aesthetic guides; they are the dimensioned blueprints for flooring patterns, planter box construction, and electrical layouts that contractors actually use on-site.
Why On-Site Supervision Matters
We do not simply issue a set of drawings and walk away. Our scope includes 3 to 4 critical site visits. This is where we verify the marking, oversee the subsurface drainage installations, and check the soil quality for planting. Whether we are designing a residential layout in South Bangalore or a private rooftop garden, we focus on:
- Material Integrity: Ensuring materials like Sadarhalli granite or WPC decking are installed to handle local weather patterns.
- Water Management: Precise slope detailing for drainage and drip irrigation piping.
- Lighting & Utility: Correct positioning of IP65-rated outdoor fixtures and electrical cabling for ambiance and safety.
Collaborating for Results
Our best work happens when there is a strong partnership with the client. We look for those willing to experiment with site planning and sustainable designs. By staying involved through the execution phase—from prepping the lightweight soil mix for a terrace to positioning focal trees like Plumeria—we ensure that the end result feels like it grew out of the land, rather than being forced onto it.
