The Journey of Designing Your Home

Creating a home is not just about furniture. It is a conversation, a series of messy sketches, late-night site visits, and the shared joy of turning an empty shell into a space that truly holds your stories.

This is where it all begins. A raw site, with unfinished walls and floors, holds all the potential for what's to come. This home needed love, and this image captures the very start of its transformation journey.

The design process is always a collaboration. Here I am in a meeting with a client, sharing ideas and laughing about the journey ahead. The best homes are born from these moments of connection and shared vision.

There's a moment in every project when the vision starts to become real. Here, we are unboxing and setting up the chandelier in the Saratoga home. It's a messy, exciting process, but seeing the space transform piece by piece is what we live for.

Sometimes, I have to get my hands dirty to get the color just right. This is me, painting the bar at Parineeti Chopra's home. It’s a reminder that design is a hands-on process, filled with passion and personal touches.

This is my best award ever. A screenshot of a happy client's message, sharing how much they and their guests love their new home. This joy is the reason I do what I do, creating spaces that evoke happiness and collecting friendships for a lifetime.

Color is deeply personal. In this clip, I talk about my philosophy on using color, from embracing dark tones in small rooms to choosing the right shade of white. It's all about creating a flow and a feeling that is unique to you and your home.

Here are four real tips for any first-time homeowner. My advice is to get honest guidance, avoid putting in too many lights, invest in a good bathroom, and most importantly, make the house entirely about you and what brings you joy.

If you want a run-of-the-mill house, my style is not for you. But if you are looking for something with character, that's eclectic, fun, and interesting, then you've come to the right place. Here's a little introduction to my design approach.

About The Journey & The Process

I do not believe in presenting a perfect plan on paper and disappearing. My process means I am right there with you, unboxing a chandelier to see if the glow hits the right spot or hand-painting a corner until the shade feels warm enough. You are hiring a partner who is physically present, solving problems in real time as the house reveals what it needs.

When we start, there is no master blueprint that dictates everything. Instead, we have a dialogue. My design approach thrives on the messiness of creation. Whether it is restoring a heritage structure with weathered mitti walls or refreshing a modern apartment, the process remains the same: we listen to the room before we touch it.

Site supervision is not a task I delegate. I am on the floor, working with craftspeople, ensuring the cement tiles are laid with care or that the light fixture is positioned to catch the evening light just right. I often ask clients to be part of the unboxing and the styling. This is not about efficiency, it is about connection. When you help place an artwork, the space stops being a project and starts being yours. We focus on practical realities too. We discuss budget constraints early, we navigate the unpredictability of sourcing vintage furniture, and we make decisions that prioritize comfort over visual trends. If you choose to work with me, expect a journey. There will be dust, there will be coffee-fueled discussions, and there will be moments of frustration. By the end, you will walk into a home that feels like an exhale.

I do not believe in following a rulebook. My work is about listening to the story a house wants to tell and helping you live comfortably within it, whether that means mixing family heirlooms with new finds or finding the perfect shade of green for a quiet corner.
