About Heritage Restoration
Why I Restore: Spaces With Stories
Old buildings speak if you listen. For me, heritage restoration isn’t about making things look pretty - it’s about letting a place’s story shine. Every brick, every faded doorway, has seen life. My job is to help these stories find a new voice, not to overwrite them.
My Way of Working
I don’t believe in wiping the slate clean. I believe in adaptive reuse of historic buildings - keeping the bones, celebrating the quirks, and giving forgotten spaces a fresh purpose. When I found my studio, the walls were crumbling and the air heavy with memory. With patience, I brought it back, leaving its scars visible but giving it a new lease of life.
How I Blend Old With New
Each project starts by figuring out what makes the space special. I look for original architectural features - wooden beams, mitti walls, stained glass, arched doors - and see what can be saved. I add modern touches, but always so the old soul stays. Sometimes, I’ll hunt down furniture from my travels or pick materials that feel honest and lived-in.
Collaboration Is Key
I never do this alone. It takes a mix of craftspeople, local artisans, and you – the client – to revive abandoned spaces and keep them real. We work together, sometimes argue, but always end up with a place that feels like it belongs.

My Story
I didn’t study design, just followed my gut and love for spaces. Started with my own home, then friends, then projects just kept coming. Found this 80-year-old Mumbai house, left to rot. Instead of tearing it down, we listened to its mitti walls and old beams, brought it back with care. Now, our studio lives in that very space—reminding us every day to honour old souls and create with heart.
