About Bicycle Repair & Maintenance
You don't need a professional kit or years of mechanical experience to keep your ride smooth. When you join our workshop, you'll work alongside volunteer mentors to tackle real issues, from inflating tires and fixing chains to basic brake adjustments. Just bring your cycle, and we'll provide the tools and guidance to help you get it back on the road safely.
People often assume that maintaining a bicycle requires specialized tools or a mechanic's degree, but it really boils down to knowing your machine. In our community-led sessions, the focus is on self-reliance. Whether you are dealing with a recurring flat tire, a chain that keeps slipping, or just a squeaky pedal that drives you crazy, we help you understand the why and how of the repair.
We set up shop in neighbourhood venues—from community centres to makerspaces like Kreu in Bengaluru. You will have access to our shared tool library, including pumps, wrenches, and lubricants. Our volunteer mentors are there to walk you through the diagnosis and the fix, but you are the one holding the wrench. This is about building confidence as much as it is about repairing mechanics.
Beyond the nuts and bolts, this is about reducing waste. Instead of discarding a bike that has a minor issue, you learn the skills to keep it running for years. It is messy, it is hands-on, and you will leave with grease on your hands and a better understanding of the two-wheeler you ride every day. Our goal is to make sure you never feel stuck with a broken item again.
