Belt Promotions and Jiu Jitsu Progress at #TeamReignMMA
Promotions at Reign aren't about paying fees; they are earned through blood, sweat, and grind. See how our students level up on the mats.
Next level unlocked. Congratulations to our new blue belts. This is a huge milestone earned through countless hours of training.
Congratulations to our students on earning their first hard-earned stripes. This is the first step on a long and rewarding journey.
Stripe up. Recognizing the consistent hard work and dedication of our students with their new stripes.
A huge moment for our head coach, receiving his brown belt. This journey of continuous learning is what we instill in all our students.
Grading day is a special day at Reign MMA. Here we are awarding new stripes and celebrating the promotion of two new blue belts.
About The Journey: Belt Promotions & Progress
Promotions here are never handed out. We use a constraints-led approach, which means you cannot just memorize moves to earn that next stripe. You will be tested in live, unpredictable sparring scenarios where you have to solve problems under pressure. Whether you are chasing that first white belt stripe or your blue belt, understand that the rank is just a marker of your ability to survive and thrive on the mat.
How We Grade
We don't do belt mills. When you see a belt change or a stripe added at #TeamReignMMA, that student has put in the work. Our grading isn't about how well you drill in a sterile environment; it's about how you function in chaotic, live situations.
What We Look For
- Consistency: Are you showing up for both Gi and No-Gi sessions? Are you handling the wrestling fundamentals on Thursdays?
- Adaptability: This is key. We look for how you handle the 'problem-solving' aspect of our training. If you are just a robot repeating moves, you aren't ready. If you are solving problems, you are moving forward.
- Community: You will see older belts helping the new white belts. That is the Reign way. We grow as a tribe, and leadership is part of the progression.
The Path
- White to Blue: The longest road. This is where you build your foundation. You will learn to stop panicking and start controlling positions.
- Stripe System: Stripes are our way of tracking your weekly progress. They tell us you are learning and staying hungry.
Expect to be uncomfortable. That is where growth happens. If you are looking for a quick belt to hang on your wall, this isn't the place. If you want to earn it, come roll with us at our HBR Layout facility.
