Our Parampara: A Legacy Since 1963
Catering is our parampara. Explore the history, traditional brass utensils, and time-honoured methods that ensure our food tastes exactly like home.
A delivery note from 1982, preserved as a part of our family's history. This is a testament to our multi-generational legacy in the catering business, rooted in Bangalore since 1963.
A credit bill from 1987 for the purchase of brass (B) and copper (C) vessels. We still use many of these traditional utensils today to maintain the authentic taste of our food.
A cash bill from Adarsh Metals in 1982, detailing the purchase of aluminum kettles, spoons, and plates. This shows our long-standing investment in quality equipment for our services.
We begin our most important events with a prayer. This image of a deity adorned with flowers reflects our deep connection to the cultural and spiritual aspects of the food we serve.
A birthday greeting for our founder, Harish Rangarao, who continues to lead our family's culinary tradition. His passion and expertise are the driving force behind our brand.
About this collection
Many of the brass and copper vessels you see in our kitchen were purchased back in the 1980s. We still use them today because metal conductivity and heat retention significantly impact how our sambar and rasam develop their depth. It is not about nostalgia; it is about precise, traditional culinary physics that modern stainless steel simply cannot replicate.
Our Roots in Bengaluru
We started in 1963 with a simple vision from my father: ruchi and shuchi. Our journey is documented in these old receipts and delivery notes, not just in our memories. When you hire us for a wedding, festival, or house pooja in Bengaluru, you are getting that same commitment we established over six decades ago.
The Wood-Fire Difference
We still cook our main gravies over a wood fire. This imparts a subtle smokiness and depth that gas burners simply cannot achieve. It is a slower process and requires more labour, but it is the only way to deliver the authentic Karnataka flavours we are known for.
Quality in Every Detail
- In-house Spices: We grind our own huli pudi (sambar powder) for every event. Freshly ground spices are the difference between a standard meal and a memorable one.
- Traditional Service: To maintain the cultural sanctity of our traditional feasts, our staff serves in authentic panche and peta.
- Heritage Equipment: From the brass vessels to the aluminium kettles, our kitchen tools are chosen for their function and history. We believe the way food is cooked is just as important as the ingredients themselves.
Whether you are planning a small family function or a grand wedding, we bring the same rigour and respect to every kitchen we set up.
Rangarao Caterers
I am the second generation carrying forward the vision my father started in 1963. For us, catering is about keeping our roots alive through every plate we serve in Bengaluru. We treat every event as if we are feeding family, keeping the same rigorous standards of purity we established decades ago.
