About The Champions' Journey: East Delhi Riders (DPL)
The biggest metric of my coaching isn't just the trophy we lifted; it is the zero-injury record we maintained across the entire East Delhi Riders squad. Managing acute and chronic workloads during a high-intensity T20 tournament like the DPL requires constant monitoring, not just generic gym sessions. We tracked everything from sprint mechanics to recovery protocols to keep every player at peak performance, ensuring they remained ready to play throughout the season.
Success on the cricket field depends on what happens before the match. My work with the East Delhi Riders was built on a foundation of periodization, where training blocks were mapped specifically to the tournament calendar.
The Science of Performance
Cricket-specific strength is not just about moving heavy weights. It is about force absorption and rotational power. We focused on:
- Rotational Power: Using medicine ball throws and landmine variations to increase bat speed and bowling velocity.
- Gait Analysis: Identifying energy leaks in running mechanics to ensure efficient movement between wickets.
- Injury Prevention: This was our non-negotiable standard. We monitored sleep, hydration, and acute-to-chronic workload ratios to prevent stress fractures and soft tissue injuries before they could sideline a player.
Why Process Matters
Athletic performance is a sum of consistent inputs. Whether you are playing at the amateur level or preparing for competitive tournaments, you need a roadmap that balances stress with recovery. I break down your training into phases—off-season hypertrophy for base building, pre-season for explosive power, and in-season for maintenance. This is how we achieve longevity in sport, keeping you on the pitch for more overs and more matches. If you are ready to stop guessing and start training with intent, let us get to work.
