Nutrition Workshops for Schools and Communities
I believe healthy habits start in the classroom. My workshops simplify nutrition for students, parents, and teachers, turning healthy eating into a sustainable lifestyle.
I often explain to parents that a child's stomach is small and can't handle heavy foods like too many parathas at once. It's better to split meals into smaller, balanced portions throughout the day. This ensures they get all the nutrients they need without feeling too full, just like I'm explaining here at a Kid's Nutrition session at Bal Vikas Vidyalaya.
A big part of my work is going into schools and talking directly to adolescents. Here I am during a nutrition session at a Delhi government school, discussing how the right foods provide energy for studies and sports. It is a blessing to connect with them and set them on a path to a healthy future.
Interaction is key during my adolescent nutrition sessions. Here, I'm engaging with students at a Delhi government school, answering their questions about healthy eating and how it impacts everything from their energy levels to their mood.
A wonderful, interactive session with school children and their parents. My goal is to empower the entire family unit with knowledge about nutrition, creating a supportive home environment for healthy habits to flourish.
During a session for parents, I use visual aids like the food pyramid and the balanced plate model. This helps make nutritional concepts easy to understand and apply to the meals they prepare at home for their children.
A classroom full of attentive students at a government school in Delhi during an awareness program on adolescent nutrition. It's so important to teach them how food choices today build the foundation for their health tomorrow.
Addressing a group of young boys about the importance of nutrition during their growth years. We discuss topics like building strength, improving concentration, and maintaining energy for both school and play.
It's wonderful to see so many curious faces. These young girls are learning about how a balanced diet can impact their health, skin, and overall well-being as they navigate their teenage years.
This was a malnutrition education campaign I was part of. We organized a mega camp to provide counseling for parents, helping them understand the signs of malnutrition and how to overcome it with accessible, nutrient-rich foods.
A glimpse from two more nutritional education camps I conducted at girls' and boys' schools. Speaking to students and parents together at these mega PTMs helps reinforce the message of health across the community.
About School Workshops & Community Education
When I speak with students, I don't lecture on calories. I focus on energy and growth. Whether it is a government school or a private institution in Delhi, I break down why a balanced plate matters and how even small changes, like picking fresh fruits over packed snacks, make a real difference in their focus and mood.
Nutrition education in schools is more than just telling kids what to eat. It is about equipping them with the right tools to make independent decisions. My sessions focus on breaking myths, like the idea that all fat is bad, and helping students understand how food acts as fuel for sports, studies, and emotional well-being.
For adolescents, we discuss the connection between food, skin health, and energy levels. We look at why skipping meals or relying on junk food affects their mood and concentration. I find that when students understand the science behind their choices, they are far more likely to stick to healthy habits.
I also conduct parallel sessions for parents and teachers. Nutrition is not just a student’s responsibility; it is a community effort. We discuss practical strategies like packing nourishing tiffins that actually get eaten, handling picky eaters, and identifying early signs of nutritional gaps.
Whether it is a mega camp at a school in South Delhi or a smaller interactive session, my goal remains the same: making nutrition accessible, logical, and easy to follow. My approach is entirely practical, avoiding jargon and focusing on local, seasonal foods that every family can easily incorporate into their daily routine.
