Behind the Lens: The Art of Landscape Photography
I do not just snap photos. I chase stories, perfect light, and the quiet moments between the chaos. Here is a look at the process and patience that goes into every frame I capture.
A compilation of some of my favorite photos from 2023. This video is a quick journey through the year's adventures in astrophotography and landscape work.
A preview of my YouTube tutorial on how I process Milky Way photos. The video shows my dual-monitor setup and a glimpse of my workflow in Lightroom and Photoshop.
A long exposure of Shirley Falls in Uttara Kannada. This image is part of my commentary on the art of photography versus AI-generated content, emphasizing the value of capturing a real moment in time.
An aerial view of the town of Hornadu nestled in the Western Ghats at sunset. This was from a trip focused on serene immersion in nature, a contrast to my usual whirlwind road trips.
About Behind the Lens
You won’t find AI-generated shortcuts here. Every print you see is the result of long exposure setups and careful manual editing in Lightroom, designed to reveal the light I actually saw in the Western Ghats or the Suru Valley. My process focuses on archival quality, meaning the print you put on your wall will hold its detail for decades, not just until the next trend passes.
Photography is slow, deliberate work. When I am out in the field, whether it is the high-altitude deserts of Ladakh or the misty coasts of Udupi, I am not just hitting a shutter button. I am waiting for the light, setting my tripod for a long exposure, and visualizing how the final image will look on paper before I ever take the shot.
The Process Behind the Print
I believe the digital file is only the beginning. Once I am back at my desk, I spend hours in Lightroom and Photoshop, but not to 'fix' an image or rely on AI. I edit to bring out the real mood, texture, and light I felt in that moment.
Why Archival Quality Matters
If you are investing in a piece of art for your home, it should last. That is why I print on archival-grade cotton rag papers and premium canvases.
- Longevity: My prints are rated for 70+ years of life.
- Detail: I use 10-12 color pigment ink systems, which ensures the blacks are deep and the landscape textures remain sharp.
- Authentication: Every piece is personally signed by me.
Whether you are looking for a statement piece for your corridor or a desk-sized fine art print, I deliver it rolled in a protective, reinforced tube to ensure it arrives in the same condition it left my studio. I do not mass-produce; I create singular pieces of my journey for your wall.

I grew up in Bangalore and have spent most of my life chasing colourful skies, from the Karavali beaches to the glaciers in Iceland. I believe in making photos that stand the test of time, not fleeting reels, and I am always happy to talk about the technique behind a shot.
