Astrophotography Fine Art Prints of the Milky Way
I don't just shoot stars; I capture the silence of the night, from the dark skies of Ladakh to the karavali coast. Bring the universe home with these museum-grade prints.
Two figures stand in awe under the Milky Way in Singalila National Park, providing a sense of scale against the vastness of our galaxy. This is a blend of two images taken moments apart to create the final composition.
A deep space capture of the Orion and Horsehead nebulae, photographed from my own terrace. This video shows the incredible cosmic clouds that can be revealed with specialized equipment and techniques.
A detailed close-up of the Milky Way's galactic core, captured in the pristine dark skies of Suru Valley, Ladakh. The image reveals the vibrant dust lanes and star clusters that are often invisible to the naked eye.
The Milky Way arching over a serene beach in the Andaman Islands. The faint green glow is airglow, a natural phenomenon that adds a magical touch to nightscape photography.
A clear view of the Milky Way, a barred spiral galaxy containing our solar system. This shot from a dark location highlights the structure of the galactic disk and its central bulge.
A lucky shot of the Milky Way reflecting in a lake near Bangalore, discovered during an early morning drive. The water lilies in the foreground add a beautiful, earthly element to this celestial scene.
A three-hour timelapse showing the movement of stars and man-made satellites, including the Starlink train, across the night sky. It's a reminder of how busy the space above us really is.
The Milky Way rises over a field of chamomile flowers at The Goat Village, a beautiful property near Nag Tibba. This image combines the beauty of the cosmos with the charm of the Himalayan foothills.
The core of the Milky Way seen above the city lights of Nepal from Singalila National Park. This image showcases my refined post-processing technique to bring out detail and color from the RAW file.
A video compilation showcasing my astrophotography work, from windmills to the star trails above the abandoned Shettihalli Church. It's a journey through different locations under the night sky.
About The Night Sky: Astrophotography
Astrophotography is about patience and preparation, not just clicking a shutter. For these prints, I use specialized equipment—like my full-spectrum Sony and star-tracking mounts—to capture details like airglow and the galactic core that are usually lost in standard shots. When you order a print, you are getting a professionally calibrated, archival-grade piece of the cosmos ready for your wall.
Many people ask how I get these shots of the Milky Way without the usual digital noise. It is a mix of long-exposure techniques, star-tracking mounts like the MSM Rotator, and hours spent in post-processing—dodging, burning, and balancing the color depth to ensure what you see on the print is as close as possible to what the sky looked like at that moment.
I have spent years chasing dark skies because finding locations without light pollution is a challenge in South India. My search has taken me from the misty Western Ghats and the quiet, saline air of the karavali beaches in Udupi to remote Himalayan regions like the Suru Valley.
When you see a print of the galactic core or the Horsehead Nebula on your wall, it is not just a digital file. It is a 12-color pigment print on museum-grade, acid-free archival paper. I intentionally use cotton rag or textured fine art stock for my astrophotography series to enhance the depth of the nebulae and the sharpness of the star trails. Every print is personally checked, signed, and shipped in a reinforced tube so it reaches you in the same condition it left my darkroom. Whether you are looking for an A3 desktop piece or a large-format 2x3 foot gallery canvas for a living room, the goal is the same: bringing a piece of the universe into your personal space.

I’m Pratap. I spend my nights tracking nebulae from my terrace or riding my KTM to the deepest, darkest spots I can find to catch the Milky Way. Photography for me is an art of patience—I’d rather capture one real moment than chase a thousand trends.
