High-altitude deserts, misty Western Ghats, and quiet river valleys. These are not just photographs; they are permanent windows into the raw, wild beauty of the Indian landscape, printed to last.

The rolling green hills of Gopalaswamy Betta, part of the Bandipur National Park. This picturesque landscape shows a dirt road winding through vibrant fields and forests.

The stark, beautiful landscape of Ladakh in December, where temperatures dropped to -15 degrees Celsius. The image shows the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers.

Sunbeams, or crepuscular rays, filter through the tall areca nut trees in a plantation near Hornadu. This aerial shot captures the magical quality of light in the dense forests of the Western Ghats.

The striking Rangaswamy Peak seen from a campsite in Kodanad, Tamil Nadu. The layers of hills are shrouded in morning mist, with the sunrise painting the sky above.

An aerial view of a river snaking through the green fields and forests of the Western Ghats in Hosanagara, Karnataka.

The dense, green canopy of the forest in Coorg, captured from above. The warm, hazy light of the evening sun gives the landscape a soft, painterly feel.

A hanging bridge stretches across a river in the Western Ghats. The reflection of the bridge in the calm water creates a beautiful symmetry.

A misty sunrise over the Sharavathi River valley. This aerial shot captures the layers of fog settling between the hills, a common and beautiful sight in the region.

A small stream cascades over rocks in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh. This image captures a piece of the raw, untamed beauty of the Himalayas.

A misty, ethereal waterfall found near the living root bridges in Meghalaya. The long exposure softens the water, while the fog adds a layer of mystery to the scene.

About Mountain, Forest & River Vistas

These landscapes require patience. Whether it is the stillness of a river in the Western Ghats or the stark isolation of the Zanskar range, I use long exposure techniques to capture what the human eye often misses. Each print is produced on museum-grade, 300 GSM archival cotton rag paper, ensuring that the depth of the shadows and the sharpness of the mist remains exactly as I intended, decades down the line.

Photography for me is slow work. I am not chasing quick trends or fleeting light; I am looking for the texture in the stone and the mood in the fog.

The Print Process

When you order a piece from this collection, you are getting an image output from 24MP+ RAW files, processed through 10-12 color pigment ink systems.

  • Medium Prints (A3): Ideal for corridors or desk spaces, printed on heavyweight archival cotton rag.
  • Large Prints (A2): Designed for larger walls, utilizing museum-grade paper that highlights the painterly quality of these landscapes.
  • Gallery Canvases: These are 2x3 foot poly-cotton blends, finished with a protective UV varnish to keep the colors rich without needing glass.

Why These Locations Matter

From the living root bridges in Meghalaya to the sunbeams filtering through areca nut plantations in Hornadu, I focus on places that offer solitude. These images are intended to act as a pause button in a busy room. Every print is personally signed, shipped rolled in reinforced tubing, and comes with a white border ready for your local framer to mount. If you are looking to bring a specific sense of 'Namma Karnataka' or the silence of the Himalayas into your home, this is the collection to explore.

I'm Pratap, a Bangalore-born photographer who would rather spend a night under the stars in the Western Ghats than edit a reel. I capture the raw, untamed beauty of India's landscapes and bring them to life on archival paper so you can have a piece of that stillness on your wall.
