Modern & Casual Dresses from Old Sarees

You have many sarees in your cupboard that you rarely drape. Why keep them folded? I turn those cotton, crepe, or printed sarees into easy to wear casual dresses.

Unlike formal lehengas, these designs are for daily use. I use up to 2.5 meters of breathable cotton lining so the fabric feels light against your skin. You can choose between A-line cuts, gathered waists, or simple maxi styles.

My construction approach focuses on durability and comfort:

• Waist definition: I use either elastic casings or fabric tie-up belts. This makes the dress comfortable and adjustable if your fit changes.
• Utility: If the saree width allows, I add side pockets. I know everyone wants pockets.
• Finishing: Just like my bridal work, these casual pieces get the same attention. I ensure very good stitching at the seams and clean finishing inside.
