About Custom & Upcycled Designs
You do not need to buy new fabric to get a fresh look. Whether it is repurposing a heavy Kanchipuram saree into a modern dress or creating a statement cape for a special event, I handle the technical side. This includes concept sketches, fabric strength analysis, and providing clear instructions for your tailor so you get a perfect result.
My design process is simple and focused on making your clothes work for you. First, we start with a concept. You share the fabric or the old saree you want to use, and I create design sketches tailored to your body type and the fabric's drape. We then move to fabric analysis, where I check if the material can handle the design you want.
Next comes the execution support. I provide detailed technical specifications for your tailor, including measurements for necklines, sleeve lengths, and flare, so they know exactly what to do. I also offer a fit assessment to suggest final alterations after the garment is stitched.
I design for everyone. While I love transforming traditional sarees into contemporary silhouettes for women, I also work on custom menswear, like the cape-style waistcoat I created for the Anubandha Awards.
