Your old sarees hold precious memories, and I specialize in giving them a new life. From traditional silks to modern silhouettes, let’s turn your family history into something you can wear every day.

A full view of this gorgeous gown, upcycled from a traditional silk saree. The design retains the original border at the hem while creating a modern, flowing silhouette with elegant pleats.

Here is the upcycled saree gown in a festive setting, showing how the rich pink fabric and gold detailing catch the light. It's a perfect piece for celebrating traditions with a contemporary twist.

A closer look at the bodice and sleeve detail of the upcycled gown. The original saree's brocade pattern was carefully placed on the sleeves to add a touch of traditional texture.

This shot captures the movement and grace of the upcycled gown, worn here with a matching purple version for a coordinated festive look.

Two sisters celebrating in their custom gowns, both created by upcycling old sarees. It shows how we can create complementary yet distinct outfits for family members.

The gown's silhouette is designed for elegance from every angle. The simple waistline and pleated fall make it a flattering choice for various body types.

This video brings the festive celebration to life, showcasing the two upcycled gowns in motion and highlighting the joy of wearing something with a personal history.

About this collection

When I work with your old silk sarees, the goal is always to keep the soul of the fabric intact. I carefully map out how to reuse the original border and pallu, integrating them seamlessly into your new gown or lehenga so the piece feels both brand new and deeply personal to you.

Giving New Life to Your Saree

Many of us have that one silk saree in our cupboard that belonged to our mother or grandmother. It is beautiful, holds deep sentimental value, but perhaps it is too heavy or the style feels dated for today. That is where my studio comes in. We do not just cut fabric; we preserve the history woven into your sarees.

How the Process Works

  1. Consultation: We start by looking at your saree. I assess the fabric quality and the placement of the borders, zari, and pallu work.
  2. Design Planning: We sketch out a design that highlights the best parts of the fabric. Whether it is a contemporary gown, an Anarkali, or a lehenga, the goal is to make it wearable for modern celebrations.
  3. Tailoring: Every piece is made to measure in our Jayanagar studio. We ensure the structural integrity of the fabric, especially if it is a delicate vintage silk, so it drapes perfectly.

Why Choose Upcycling?

It is about sustainability and storytelling. Instead of buying something new, you are revitalizing a piece of your family history. It is a fantastic way to prepare for festive events like Ganesha Chaturthi or family weddings with an outfit that has a story attached to it. Plus, you get an outfit that is truly one of a kind—no one else will be wearing your grandmother's saree design.
