About this collection

What you see on stage is the result of precise synchronization. Akshatha and I do not just dance together, we rely on specific lighting transitions and live musical cues to tell this story. The choreography demands high endurance because the dialogue between the characters is constant, leaving no room for a break or a pause.

The story of SUTÃ: Birth of a Father is deeply personal to me. It explores the relationship between Himavaan and his daughter Parvati, a dynamic that often gets lost in larger group productions. Unlike my solo Margam recitals where I interact directly with the audience, this duet is a closed, intimate world. We rely on the live orchestra to anchor the pacing because the choreography is relentless.

Every gesture is timed to the vocalist's rhythm and the lighting director’s cues. When you book this production, you get the full ensemble. It is not just about the two of us on stage. You are bringing a live band, a stage manager, and a technical design that transforms the venue into the world of the Puranas. If you are planning a theatre show or a thematic event, keep in mind that we require a standard proscenium stage to get the lighting effects right. We have performed this in venues ranging from intimate auditoriums to large festivals, and the impact is always about that shift between the quiet, tender moments and the high-energy movements. We handle all technical coordination, but we do need a space where the lighting can be completely controlled to set the mood.

I am Parshwanath. For me, dance is about finding the fire in traditional forms and using it to tell stories that feel human. SUTÃ is special because it takes me away from the soloist's spotlight to share the stage and the emotional weight of a narrative with my fellow artist, Akshatha.
